Swinging clubs

Being new to the lifestyle im still treading lightly and I am eager to check out a swinger club to get my feet wet so to speak,My concern is that my expectation vs the reality of attending a club/party.One could only imagine that these are filled with regular couples who are already in circles or cliques and the rest single men with the reality of this being a sausage fest.From others experience are there couples who are open and willing to invite newbies in or is it more a testosterone fueled chest puffing comp to see who can bag the most ladies?I Really hope for a sexy first experience and would hate to be shun away from exploring my fantasies further over a bad one.
