I have several. Some have meaning but most were either drawn myself or just something I liked. Some looked amazing on paper but not so much on skin. I was also the canvas for a mate who was just starting out. One was out of pure rebellion and I'm about to get DIFH (Do It For Her) on one set of knuckles and havent decided on the other hand yet. - Posted from rhpmobile

I don't have any tatts.. But recently have been thinking a lot about getting one.. never really been a fan of lots of ink on girls. But recently had a friend with extras. Who had a lot of ink and piercings.. It was very weird for me as I've never been attracted to either of those things before. But I have to say she opened my eyes to a whole new world. Loved every moment I got to spend with her, and the morning afters I would find myself checking out and tracing the out lines of her tatts... - Posted from rhpmobile

A tattoo of a willywagtail with my son's name on my right shoulder blade. I kept seeing the birds at the time. Hurt like shit. Would I get another? Probably not. LC.

Tattoos were once the symbol of rebellion, the ''rough and tough'', I remember when I was a child and a teenager those that had tattoos (mainly men) were generally to be kept away from as they were ''probably bikies''. Fast forward a couple of decades and it would be fair to say that most young people these days have a collection of tattoos. I love good skin art, have seen some awesome tattoos including full sleeves that are so intricate and tell a story. There is also an unhealthy amount of crap out there, just sheer shite that I would be embarrassed to show - but each to their own. I dare say a lot of them are probably drunken Bali tattoos after a few too many Bintangs. I read recently that the numbers of tattoo removals in Australia has gone through the roof over the past 4-5 years, and it's easy to see why. A lot of cheaper tattoos are apparently done with cheap ink (didn't realize there was such a thing) which fades very quickly. Unless you are going to get it touched up yearly it is just going to look like a faded cheap tattoo in a few years, which just looks unsightly. I have always wanted a tattoo but have never seen one that I liked enough. Were I to get one I would have it in a place that I can conceal it if I so desire. What amazes me these days are blokes with tattoos that go right up their neck, for women the latest craze seems to be the front of the upper legs. The problem with locations like this is, say you want to go to a wedding for instance - if you dapper up as a bloke with a full-neck tattoo you have half the art showing, which just looks poxy Ditto for women, you want to wear a short dress you have half-tattoos showing on either or both legs. I just think they are ill-considered. A work colleague of mine got a full-sleeve tattoo on one of her arms - it is a beautiful Japanese-gardened theme, she went to a really good tattoo studio and did her research on the ink etc. It looks amazing and she is right proud of it, dresses to show it off no matter the occasion. She has a ''I love it, I hope you do too - if not piss off'' personality that enables her to make it classy (even though that sounds contradictory). I was at a pub about a year ago with a couple of friends, we noticed at one stage that we were the only men in a reasonably busy pub without tattoos. The irony was that we were the rebels, simply by virtue of not having any.

as long as they are well done, well placed, and don't look tacky. Sleeves included. I have four tattoos now. Most recent one done late last year and the first one that isn't normally covered by clothing. None of them have any deep meaning as such, I just like the designs. One is a cover-up as I really didn't like the original one anymore. That is a risk you take with tattoos, obviously, if your tastes change as you get older and / or you didn't put much thought into choosing the design. Now I am careful to choose designs that I am sure I won't come to regret. I had to say goodbye to my beautiful dog this week, after 13 years together. It has left a huge hole in my heart. I am thinking that my next tattoo will be something to commemorate him.

We both got one in Byron on a holiday about 5 years ago. Mine (Mr) is a spiral sun and has spiritual meaning to me representing death/rebirth and also masculine/feminine balance. Mrs D has a mother/child symbol on her abdomen with letters representing the children and moi. Will be looking for another in the next year or two. Mr D - Posted from rhpmobile

There's something about ink, on men and women, that really turns me on 😍 No unfortunately I don't have any but lucky you. Not within my budget but I for one am very happy tatts are widely accepted now 👍

The ex and I got matching ones when we were about 18. A bit cheesy but also cute. I like it still and it has good memories attached. I was thinking about another one. Maybe a lotus because they are something beautiful and pure that rises out of a dirty, muddy pond. Bit of a metaphor for pushing through those hard times in your life intact and coming out the other side. I would get it on the inside of my forearm because it doesn't catch much sun. I like tattoos and I don't mind if a person has heaps if they are good quality and well designed. A lot of people I know have them and I don't even see them anymore. They just become part of the person when you know them well.

.. I knew what I wanted and searched hundreds before finally settling on one I now have.. Luckily , I knew the guy very well who done the tattooing and knew how good he is in his job... Mine is tribal art covering the top of my shoulder and arm. I made sure it could be covered by my short sleeved business shirt for obvious reasons but the lower part sometimes peeks out which then becomes a talking point with my clients , specially females.. They seem to delight in pulling my sleeve up to have a better look ..lol.. Particularly like it when they smile and want to trace it with their finger.. It's almost like a sign of silent approval.. So no regrets here . I feel it defines me as a individual... I'm not rough nut , I only like to ride a motor scooter when I'm on holidays in phuket , and I like to think I'm a responsible . ?

Before I had mine I'd heard from several ppl how painful it was. So I was thinking , OK ' I better take a bit of wood to bite on just in case, but it wasn't that bad at all . Reading Lovechilds post above where she says ' Hurt like shit ' which I don't doubt for one second , but although mine was also shoulder '. ( and upper arm ). didn't feel much pain at all.. So if anyone's considering a tattoo and wondering about the pain , I think it's very much a individual thing . We all have different thresholds to pain , so you will just have to wait and find out on the day..

Hubby has a couple, and wants more, thats his choice, his body and I'm ok with that. I'm not a fan and am more attracted to someone without, the same way that I'm more attracted to dark hair and brown eyes. It's not a deal breaker, just a preference. Mrs Ax - Posted from rhpmobile

Location is everything when getting a tattoo with regards to pain. Yes people have different pain tolerances but where you get it makes a big difference. I have some on my upper arms, forearms, upper back and lower back and each one felt different. I have a large one on the lower back that wraps around to the sides. The middle part was a breeze but the closer you get to the sides it starts to sting like a motherfucker. Granted I sat for 8 hours straight for that one. - Posted from rhpmobile

Definitely no regrets. Its a timeline of where you were at in life at that point. Do whatever makes you happy and makes you feel good. Im covered in ink and although some of my earlier decisions i may not have made that choice now, but that was then and no one can predict the future so why regret 😁 - Posted from rhpmobile
