Was thinking of this myself! Sometimes the background reveals more about the person/profile than buck-naked and prone does! A bit of amateur visual detective work, I'm starting to realise, is half the fun!Like, lady selfies in the bathroom, and the seat is up! Hmmn.One profile insisted she wasn't after a "Tarzan", but had leopard print bra & undies on & leopard print bed sheets! Hmmn.Also can't help looking at any artwork or furniture in photos. Says a lot!However, I do tend to think too much.

If its someone I think I might already know, or they have a messy room/ interesting object in the background.... All the more reason we should all be cautious about posting pics online...., make sure there are no street signs/ photos on the wall / car number plates or other identifiers in the background. It's also a good idea, if using a smartphone, to turn off location services for your camera! Unless you WANT to be found and shagged silly, like I do......;)- Posted from rhpmobile

When a person takes no time to think about the presentation of their surroundings' it tells you something about them. If they cant take the time to tidy up it makes you wonder about their mindset and hygiene..

When people see a picture of someone holding a fish , I never look at it till last. My eye is always drawn to the background . It gives away all the secrets , time of day , year , tide stage , bait used , rig and gear . So I can poach the spot for myself. Profile pics are similar story , there is one in particular that gives away that the lady is a school teacher in a Nothern Sydney suburb. The clue is ..., she took the pic with her school planner/ calendar in the back ground . So ladies remember to check carefully before hitting the send button.- Posted from rhpmobile

I tend to take a few selfies for Hubby when I'm getting ready to play, so absolutely guilty of using where there is good light and a mirror, but that may mean a room that shreaks of "What am I going to wear? I actually enjoy seeing all the crap in the background . I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing . It proves that they're a Real Person . I see Women's Profiles with posed , explicit pictures and I can't stop thinking about who the hell took the photo ? The troubles that people go to , to get a good Selfy are pretty bloody funny . And I see so many Profile Pics that are upside down or sideways . I think you can tell a lot about a Person when you have a Profile Pic that is a genuine , candid snap of who they are . The most interesting one would have been a selfie of a man standing next to a mattress with a pile of clothes on it. On the floor was an open suitcase. Bathroom has the best lighting plus using the mirror as a reflection you can take photos easily which surprises me why people dont turn their phones around.........I always check out the background and therefore always think about it when taking my own. Common sense but dont always judge the artwork it may not be their house.

I check out the tidiness, the style of hotel/room, bathroooms......the dirt under their nails and the ' Would I want to be there factor'.......not much else to go on in the first instance!!! Would I socialise in some tile bar on Parramatta Road or have a drink in the Cargo Bar with the suits..... Don't like generalising but some effort is required!!!! .....Just saying!!!!! :))

with a price tag on each piece.I once went to take a selfie of me on the bed and just when I took the shot of my legs in stockings, my dog wandered in and all you could see were two dog ears, right between my feetthat was sooooooooo not a good look. reminder to self, lock doors before taking pictures, some backgrounds are so funny, It happens a lot in real easte pictures, now go check those out and see the stuff they forget to hide in their promo pictures
