is pretty much the term for me. Blokes typically don't share anything too personal although myself and a few others had a rather hilarious conversation at the pub the other week about vasectomies and ultrasounds of our testicles. A very frank conversation that amused the bar staff no end. I do have a couple of lifelong friends where we know more about each other than our parents do. I trust them with my sordid secrets, and they do I.

No idea if there is some secret mens or womans code you are referring too for white folk, except when I lived in Alice Springs and was invited into an Aboriginal sitting of secret womans business. It was a great honour to be a part of.. Anyone I converse with, our conversations stay private. I know which men in my friends and family I can trust with confidentiality and those I can't, same with the women. Most people I know may feel compelled to discuss something private about someone else with their partner, so if I don't trust their partner with confidentiality, I will hesitate on telling them. But in any case, I don't have any massive skeletons to hide, unless you include all this adulty kind of stuff I like :P

When we men get together , theres usually that much BS flying around , we can't separate what was fact and what wasn't ? lol... I don't think men are too concerned about cones etc. If you ask a man at the end of a session with his mates what was said , most wouldn't have a clue.. When I'm with my mates , we say silly things and laugh a lot.. 😳

Being honest, I disagree with secrets as they create a desire to share. I hold nothing secret about me - if asked I'll answer anything honestly and I'll respond to those asking if I can keep a secret with "No"...thing is they usually tell me anyway. Humans hey?

... I hate it when someone tells you something in confidence and your sworn to secrecy . I'd rather they don't tell me at all . As good as I am at keeping it to myself , there's times when someone says something you knows not true and because your sworn to secrecy, you just have to bite ur tongue..

RL is a lot less black and white, can even bring up moral dilemmas, think couples for example where your loyalty lies with both? Another example might be family where you know the close network, there might be occasions where saying something might be the right thing to do and places you in an awkward situation. I know what you mean, good point. Most of my interactions are online now

Yeah I guess I didn't mean really bad, just general private stuff. If I can give an example of why I like it, a friend might tell you something seemingly generic or that might not seem very personal, but for their own reasons, they might require it doesn't get mentioned, they ask to keep it in the vault or whatever, not explanation needed, it then doesn't get mentioned. We all draw conversation from life experience and human interaction, and what might seem harmless, can be harmful to that person. Particularly online, we don't always know their history or their network, an innocent remark can be damaging, even though it's not passed on as gossip. There's a difference IMO between gossip and general chit chat about everyday stuff
