There has just been a thread posted about this same subject, and it happens to quite a lot of us. There seems to be a lot of married and attached people claiming to be single and liking the excitement of planning a clandestine meeting behind the computer screen and then not being able to go through with it. Its just one of the "non perks" of of online dating sites, hopefully you will be able to suss these guys out before arranging any more meetings. Weve talked before, and you are a nice, genuine guy, hope you have more luck in future!

Some people can talk the talk but not walk the walk. Just a shame to waste time and energy on them. - Posted from rhpmobile

GROUNDHOG DAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY Its like this........ If theyre a no-show.... theyre either not genuine.... or.... Theyre just not that into you. Because if theyre were genuine, and into you..... intrigued, attracted and interested as a result of your profile and subsequent communications.... .... they'd ensure they were there. DG

People have lives that don't centre around you. Things happen. I actually use it as a weeding mechanism because you can tell a lot about a person by the way they react. Xxviolet

Xxviolet i understand that Violet, but if your organise to meet, and then pull out its a bit wrong don't you think

Children always come first so if I need to cancel because of something involving my child, I do. I try give as much notice as possible though. If they cancel before hand it's not so bad but when they just don't show up, even though they have confirmed a couple of hours before, that's when I get the shits! That's the ultimate sign of rudeness.

No I don't think it is. The person is a stranger I owe them nothing. I generally pull out because of children, babysitters, my family or work commitments which at this time of the year are crazy and often last minute or they have gone over time. Work is my survival and is very important to me and my children. This is my life... It is full on! If someone reacts badly to it when they don't even know me then it's only going to get worse as it happens more when they do know me and I don't need the added pressure at the moment that's why I am on this site not a traditional dating site. Is given that you've stated that you've met so many good people... Why is this particular one pissing you off?? You obviously find it easy to meet, converse and the like..... Getting pissed off over something so trivial makes you look like angry, needy with an overinflated sense of entitlement in my view.... But I could be wrong... - Posted from rhpmobile

Our thoughts, we never organise to meet anyone unless we have spoken over the ph first, if there not wanting to give us a call, we don't give out our address. We won't call them unless they have tried to call us, we have to trust the people that we have over in our house, you think they could trust us with their number! You get a much better feel for who your dealing with by saying hi, than a message. Finally, makes us laugh, if a lady is going to call for the first time, put your mobile on private that way you keep yourself a mystery, its easy to block a number, and it is rude to not show up after having planed a get together. A simple text, sorry can't make it tonight, maby another time, would be adequate!! We must be old fashioned.

Even if it's very inconvenient and annoying, I see it as a near miss. The universe is steering me away from a negative experience so I choose to be grateful instead...

Make patience your friend here. I understand your frustration, water off a ducks back, don't let it get to you, just keep rolling with it. There's lots of genuine people here , just look forward to finding and meeting them.

I agree people should message and say and I always do that but some of the responses you get when you do that are hmmm dramatic :/ I believe if someone doesn't show up that's just how it is and obviously you're meant to be doing something else then :) Xxviolet

Its just one of the "non perks" of of online dating sites, hopefully you will be able to suss these guys out before arranging any more meetings. Weve talked before, and you are a nice, genuine guy, hope you have more luck in future! I think that is a very simplisitic explanation. I will only meet married/attached people and I think that it is far too easy for people to set up a profile, forgetting that there are actually real people at the other end!! Case in point. i am attached and an attached person contacts me, so I organise a meet, and at the last minute they bail out!! It's definitely cold feet and i think that many don't realise that someone might actually want to meet them. Oftentimes they have carried on about how they can't wait to meet me, and how good they are in bed etc etc and then i think that they just cant go through with anything. never mind, there are plenty who will!!

Forgottenever, Im a FIFO worker too. Have been on here for about 6 months. Can I suggest going to the meet & greets now & then. It can be a good way to meet people away from the keyboard. You can get a read on people much better & they're less likely to bail on you if youve already met them. Once you've been to a couple of them you'll get an idea of who you like etc... Hope this helps mate. Good luck to you.

This is one of the most frustrating things about this site. So many people are "looking for fun" but never actually commit to plans. The worst are the 'hot and cold' members, who are very encouraging and then get cold feet at the last minute. It's never happened to me on any other site or app as much as it's happened here...purely frustrating (and I don't even work FIFO like the OP).
