it wasn't a brief encounter as we ended up in a relationship, but I met one of my exes when I was sitting on the side of a dark stretch of road at 1am in the morning (long story, don't ask) and he was in a taxi that drove past. He got the taxi driver to stop and gave me a lift home, once we got there he gave me his number which I barely noticed at the time in my zombie-like state. Texted him the next day to thank him, yadda yadda...

In my younger days living in Townsville, I was a groomsman at four of my mates' weddings and best man at one (possibly a bit ill-advised, as we were all under 25 at the time). Reception venue toilets, beaches, and a couple of them came back home. God I love bridesmaids!!!! - Posted from rhpmobile

One of the aforementioned grooms (my mate) was 19, and me and the rest of the groomsmen got him sooo pissed at the reception in Mackay that, well, the marriage wasn't able to be consummated that night. As we'd all hired suits and it was my job to collect them the following morning before driving back to Townsville, I dutifully knocked on the door of the hotel room where the happy couple had spent the night. The door was opened by the furious new wife. Through the door and down the hallway I could see the edge of the bed, on top of which were two legs still clad in black wedding trousers, and still with shoes on! I explained what I was after, and the bride said 'no worries', left the door open, walked down the hallway and took the groom's shoes off. Then she started yelling at him to wake up, dragged his pants off him and started whipping him with his own pants, berating him for his inability to do the business the night before! Two minutes later, after a somewhat nervous wait at the door she brought all the bits of the suit to me, smiled sweetly and said thank you. I got out of there at 100 miles an hour, let me tell you. I think that marriage lasted nine months. For the record, I advised against it due to age (or lack thereof) but hey - can't knock back being part of a wedding party! - Posted from rhpmobile

I was staying in a nsw town with a friend. We were heading out for dinner and I smiled and waved at a stranger - a chap who worked for Telstra who was also staying at the hotel. He said 'Where are you going?'. I told him to dinner. He said 'Well knock on my door when you get back', and gave me his room number. I knocked on his door after dinner, and we had the MOST amazing, nameless anal sex - enough to set the world on fire. It was brief and hot. I went back to my room, and that was that. Best memory!

I was a bridesmaid for 3 of my friends when I was in my 20s. I ended up shagging a groomsman at each wedding. Weddings were always a highlight!
