What is blood donation policy in relation to having casual sex partners?

September 26 2018

My understanding is that Australia Red cross have some policy - against sex with sex worker.- MSM (men who have sex with men) 1 yr waiting time. I guess both above applies for any kind of sexual activity including what you may consider as safe sex. UK has policy that MSM monogamous after successful interview need only 3 month waiting. So what is the policy for casual sex of the type not listed above?

That Red Cross don't have sex with sex workers on site, and it's a bit cruel to make blokes that want to shag another bloke on site wait an entire year.

Sex with sex worker has 1yr wait. Red cross definition of sex worker will include sugar dating. I do agree no distinction between safe and unsafe sex. The safe sex is technically very in correct word and "safe" should be replaced by "reduced risk"

If I go to the Red Cross I have to wait one year to have sex with either a sex worker or another man? That's quite the waiting list. And besides, I didn't know they offered such services. That's me done, never going there again.

Wait is not after visiting red cross. You need to wait for 1yr to visit red cross after those sexual activities.

A gay man, in an LTR, with the sought after O- is being denied the chance to donate because of his sexuality.
