What is it with Australian nudists ?

sex

Why is the nudist scene in this country so CRAP ! I love nothing more than to get naked and do so whenever legally possible. Unfortunately all legal nudist places, groups and clubs are full of fat old men! Good luck to all the fat old men....one of the great things about nudism is acceptance of any shape, size, age and gender. BUT....WOW.... where's that European attitude to nudity ? It's commonly accepted practice to get naked in public in so many other countries and there's even a mature acceptance of sex in public as well. We have the best country in the world for getting nude so why don't more people do it and why is it not accepted practice? Surely we are not the most shy country in the world ?

I think it must be to do with the British Culture part of our heritage. We have never really accepted naturism and neither have they. It's a pity but what can you do?I would have to challenge your claim that we have the best country in the world for getting naked since we have the highest incidence of melanoma of any country in the world. Just make sure you beat the fat old men to the sunscreen before they use it all lol.And no, I am not a nudist btw.

what facts are you quoting about the British? omg...there are something like 60 beaches for nudists in the UK alone. imagine that? 60 in a place so small......and dozens of camping grounds...and over a hundred clubs and associations....all over the UK are nudist and nudist friendly resorts, bnb's, camping grounds, pools etc etc ..........i think theyve accepted it quite well....considering the climate...i think you'll find it to be more about the lack of opportunity due to inclement weather, than attitude...every englishwoman i know (wife included) is more inclined to throw clothes off at the merest hint of sunshine, than not ....lol you should see our place during summer......surrounded by half naked poms i am.......

Attitudes like yours to "Old Fat Men" is why this country is nudist backward. REAL nudists don't care what people look like. They are not there for the perve or fine scenery like you it seems. Get over yourself and accept all as they are, then you might just enjoy your life instead of dumping on others.

I was referring to the fact that our culture developed from our British forbears and so until not that long ago we tended to be a bit more conservative compared to say, the US. I was also going by a an old client of mine from England who used to moan about the lack of naturist venues as he and his wife were enthusiasts. He said they were disappointed when they came to Australia to find the same situation here. Thanks for clearing that up.

nudists are there to be nude............not to perve.... we dont care what anyone else looks like, and hardly acknowledge them except for a brief greeting............those who are serious about the nude side of things do the same..they dont perve, or troll the beach for glimpses of flesh, or take notes on who's what...fat, skinny, tall, short or otherwise. nor do they bitch n whinge about the 'quality' of nudists.....nude is nude, isnt it?......the only real complaints are that we lack suitable venues, and that those that are available have little or no facilities attached.......at least where we go, theres a patrolled carpark and toilets..........

My sincere appologise for anyone I have offended ! I have nothing against fat old men and don't dump on them or anyone else. I look forward to my inevitable days as a fellow fat old nudist male !!! I love being a REAL nudist and enjoy the company of ANY other nudist. It's just amazing why more people of all shapes sizes, ages and genders don't realise the joys of nudism/naturism. The perve comment was a bit harsh !

had a look at Cap dAdge........in europe.......am so glad we dont have 40,000 nudists trying to cram themselves onto the beach we frequent........omg, we'd be stacking ourselves 3 deep just to fit on the beach....lol.........what we have is wonderful......space to be naked, and alone.

Yeh....true.....the freedom of nudity in open spaces is a genuinely stress relieving relaxation ....a huge sigh of relief and release when you shed the conformities of threads. As I said, Australia is the best place to be a nudist....... with sunscreen !! .   Have to admit ....a lot of the "European attitude" to nudism is bit exabishonist and unnatural... hence the Cape D world. Maybe this is the real difference between "nudism" & "naturism" ?   I just get pissed off with the fact that if you're seen naked (even in isolated locations) in this country, the general attitude is that you are a weirdo or pervert !! The acceptance of nudism is all ...well ....crap ! It's almost as if to be a nudist in this country you have to be confined to a designated legal place or club which just puts a fence around nudist where critics (& perverts) can stand back and point.   Open it all up & be open-minded...that all I wish for.

"3 deep & alone" is an advantage our quiet locations do have in some circumstances.....lol

My "ouch" reply to your stinging bite at me didn't get a reply.   I'm real nudist with integrity....   What do you think makes a real nudist ?

a 'real' nudist? i think someone who can be naked and free, and not make it about sex. its natural and liberating. we should be able to frequent the places we do, without fear of perves also being present, who would make our 'bits' the focus of their attention............we dont go to speak with, or be friendly with anyone else......and operate on a 'leave us alone and we'll do the same' basis..........we dont want interaction with anybody to ruin our day.......so care little who is there, as long as they stay away from us.......

In my limited experience with nudist groups over here, it's not to bad! But as a single male I won't be accepted to a nudist park, unless it's for a charity event or public open day thats being run!   So that leave's us with the public nude beach(being legal) were the dirty old fat perve's hang out in the dune's and quite a bit of sodomy goes on which doesn't lend to a safe feeling for all.   Other wise it's of to a nice secluded spot away from the masses (cept for the occasional Game and Fisherie's officers or what ever they call themselves now).

You nail it with you discription of being natural and liberating and not for the sex. Again I couldn't agree more. Textiles don't get it at all and it seems to be all the worse among Australians. If only they tried it and accepted it for what it really offers, more would embrace it.They don't know what their missing out on ! As for aviding intereaction....unfortunately for a single male this leaves you at risk of being labled a perve. If only the whole fear and presence of the pervert element were not there, maybe we could all enjoy a true nudist experience.

Where we are its a hour drive, then a 60 -90 minute bush track quite steep, to spend an hour or two naked in the sun with others its 4-5 hours travelling.   Its just too hard to do routinely. And when you get there 2-3 other couples and 4-10 single gay guys parading themselves constantly walking up and down the beach.

Exactly my point ! Why do nudists have to be pushed into too hard locations with nothing to offer but a few well intended true nudist plus wierdos ? It's as if society believes nudists are wierdos too. If the attitude to nudity was accepted in a mature way by Aussies, nudist wouldn't have to go bush to go natural.
