"Fox on the Run too". :-D. I'm so gawky but I loved the music and it was a cheap place to hang out. I love so many songs from over time... without going for a search... Ah yes, favourite from "Grease", the song sung by the cast as the movie closes... suits my taste for nonsense with depth... We Go Together... We go together like Rama lama lama Ka dingity dinga dong Remembered forever as Shoo-wop sha whadda whadda Yippity boom de boom Chang chang changity chang sha bop That's the way it should be Wha-ooo Yeah Peachy

I was about 17 yr old, walking down at Manly beach, around the corso and walked past a night club, straight past the bouncers and into 'All You Zombies, by The Hooters' being played full noise out of their sound system and right there and then knew what it was all about, the harmonics and dynamics pumped into massive rooms with high ceilings by high powered amplifiers, out of those fucking awesome speakers that drove the song ' All You Zombies' straight through my chest, into the wall behind me then back right into the centre of my brain, it was all and everything that existed, state of trance and that music is emotion and feelings expressed through instruments electrified and if I wanted to eg; send Tara all the feelings for what and why she means to me, why it is I love her, how it feels to love her, she could be anywhere in the universe and she could feel as I do from mind and soul and spirit in the music carried by sound waves and just know how fucking good it feels by the vibrations alive with the sound of music, it's just a matter of finding the speakers and valve amp powerful enough, got to have a good stereo system to really share the love and a relationship that couldn't be quite the same without it. There is something in the music. Mado Mado Tara xx

Actually managed to buy my own radio, and loved listening to music then. The station to listen to way back then was 2SM, with all the current tunes available. Many, many songs spring to mind as music was a big part of my teens, but one (of many) that springs to mind that always brings back memories of early days was 'Seasons in the Sun' by Terry Jacks.

The first time I married was to a woman whose heritage in was in Georgia... A bunch of friends and fellow musos had rocked up and yes were ungraciously. She was sooooo pissed of that when when she dragged me into the kitchen demanded to know ''who are all those niggers''. I told the story back to my friends.... the Robert Cray band. ''I guess I showed her''.

That song reminds me when I was 18. Driving up to Coolom Beach in a comby van, with my brother and a group of his mates to our family beach house. I remember we were singing to that song. Gosh! That was a great summer vacation! Ms Foxy

Who remembers, opening the cover out, to see lyrics of songs and singing along to them? I remember when I got cassette of INXS (Kick). When I was at boarding school, my girlfriend's and I thought Michael was a sex God! We used to sing into our hair brushes to him, (reading cassette cover lyrics), in our PJ's. Ms Foxy

For me pre teen it's - If you're going to San Francisco by Scott McKenzie. My cousin played it for years and it brings back awesome memories. I was a disco duck so anything Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, Hot Chocolate or locals Sherbert, Hush, Kush- can't go past Jeff Duff's version of MacArthur Park - Posted from rhpmobile

Nice topic chevtrek...... My introduction to music was a best of AC-DC from my father and the song that I was playing on and on and on was "This means war" and that was somewhere mid 80's. Then the 90's came and I went to a disco for first time in 1993 and I still remember that aggressive sound of L.A Style and their song "James Brown is Dead" After that I had my walkman and a cassette with that song for weeks.....(honestly months) :P

With the exception of one dud song (I'm looking at you Zanzibar) the first Hoodoo Gurus album has been a constant over thirty years. I had pretty good taste in music for a teenager (I discovered the Velvet Underground at 15 and a year later was lying my way into Triffids and Go-Betweens gigs) but that album still gets me jumping out of my skin. Also Q, I saw a reformed Loved Ones when I was 19. They played The Loved One and Ever Lovin' Man twice! Gerry Humphries was wearing spats with a gold waistcoat straining against his ample stomach. I looked like he gave zero fucks about looking cool and I thought that I wanted to be like him when I'm old. And now I am. - Posted from rhpmobile

How about Gloria Gayner.....ummm maybe not showing my age... "I Will Survive" At first I was afraid, I was petrified, Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong, And I grew strong, and I learned how to get along. And so you're back from outer space. I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me Go on now, go. Walk out the door Just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh, no, not I! I will survive. Oh, as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive. I've got all my life to live. I've got all my love to give. And I'll survive, I will survive, hey, hey.

Shells and Foxy I love that song! It reminds me of me and my BF sitting in a cafe in our early teens, smoking cigarettes and drinking cappuccinos, we thought we were so grown up! The cafe had a jukebox selector at each table and we used to play that song over and over.

Johnny's got a light in his eyes and Shirley's got a light on her lips Jakes got a monkeyshine on his head and Debra Ann's got a tiger in her hips They can twist and turn they can move and burn They can throw themselves against the wall But they creep for what they need And they explode to the call and then they move Move Sex beat, go They're stupid like I told ya, very stupid like ya saw Very stupid as the simple thought of ever thinking at all And all their mind, all their souls all their bodies all we know All we know all the things that should a made us whole All the colourless security was all that someone could go and move, move Sex beat, drop And yes you do look cool and by the floodlights so blue You make my tropical apartment bed, your sacrificial pool My body in the water and my heart is in your hand So this is the way you choose to send me to the judgement land So you can't move, move oohh..sex beat, go And every day I agree you throw me down by the christmas tree I watched your lights blink on and off while you start your fun with me I, I know your reasons and I, I know your goals We can fuck forever but you will never get my soul Just so you can move So you can move So you can move So you can move so you can Oohh... Quoting 'chevtrek' Most have lots of songs they like but , the one song that sticks there for years is the topic. I suspect it may be difficult for some of us to select just one (of many different things). That is certainly the case for me! Like a kid in a candy store: "I'll have one of those, and one of those, and one of those, and one of those, and I'd like one those ones there too please. Oh, I didn't notice that one (pointing), I think I'd also like one of them, and one of them, and one of them..." There are so many memories, and so many possibilities. You know how it is? What do you do?
