What would you do without your wingman?

There is always a root cause (please, avoid the giggles... it's just a word). Somewhere, one day, two guys were chatting. One said to the other, "Do you want to get a manicure" "Are you gay?" "No... it's a MANicure... everyone does it, you don't need to be gay" Somehow this spread, and before you knew it... metrosexualism was upon us. Do you remember the days when it was embarrasing to buy tampons or hair removal products from the supermarket... not any more! "Men" then bought stainless steel bbq's with wok burners and all of a sudden, we have a generation who are more lady than man. And ladies don't believe in wingmen... not the way we do. Wingmen are still out there, pubs without pokies still exist, and I occasionally drink full-carb home brew beer with people who don't need counselling if you call them a "fat dickhead" in a backyard shed full of all the bits you'd need to put a V8 into an EH "one day" . But I believe the demise is upon us Stalky. Sad but true. I don't know how to stop it.

i prefer not to got out to town and clubs... but if i have my wingman by my side then i know it shall be an evening of great laughs... fun times... and hell hopefully pickup a number or two by the end of the night :-Pi do believe it is best to know then not at all to answer your curious question, i have more trust and faith in him then learning later... whats that saying "don't shoot the delivery boy or messenger" lolisnt that what mates are for... the curious questions like "should i go talk to her" then the answer from him "hey heres a cup of harden the .... up" lol ... then comes the push... and your on your way...i dont think standing by could be broadsiding... maybe the mate is confuzed at to which he should or shouldnt say something either way... friendship could be on the line, depending on the personsactually to add ... my wingman was recently caught in a similar situation with another mate of his (seeing the other blokes misses with someone else)... he did confront his mate about it a few days later due to he was away... and found that his mate already knew from working it out when he got home, but was thankful for the courtesy of "looking out for a mate"although having said thats it is very fair to say its best to keep distance in other circumstances.... but talking between mates ... i fink given the mate the benifit of the doubt means soo much more to friendship peace... love...and happiness all Clint

I agree that a wingman is a good thing when out on the town...but what if your wingman is actual your girl... When we go out, we are looking to swing with (or at least check out) other people. Kilee is my wingman, and i'm hers...Couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else. No I don't have a shed with all the bits for an EH's V8..fuck i don't even have a shed, infact I may be a bit of a metrosexual, but if someone called me a fat dickhead I'd probably laugh with them... If my missus ever cheats on me, at least i'll know her wingman probably set it up... so it'll be sweet. Trev

Trev, it seems really common for a man's "best man" to be his spouse. Theres a movie by the same title. Which ever way you look at it you can't fault it when it works. Hugs Stalky

i think the ultimate gauge of self confidence, is the solo trek. these have been some of my most awesome experiences.no expectations. an impromptu plunge into spontaneity. in saying that, i love going out with dear friends. but if you NEED a mate by your side to pick up, you really need to have a look at the concept of confidence. or rather, why you dont have any....

No No No "And ladies don't believe in wingmen... not the way we do." I'm sure what you and Kilee have is very special. But it's different, a wingman has to be a wingMAN. PS - It's OK not to have a shed, but you should find someone that has one...

Yeah Chris, for a certified narcisist like myself, not having a wingman would be no problem at all... that is, if I were not into group sex... a group of one... just doesn't have the same zest, at least to me. Stalky, I have been divorced for 6 years....my wingman decided to try the missus out....thats fine whats done is done.lol. But i have noticed that guys may be a little different to girls in that way. They will brun a brother at the first chance they can to get the girl. I used to go clubbing with a bunch of mates until a year ago....but they only turned out to be the same. IF your chatting to a girl or things going well.... they have to do the Alpha thing and thry and shoot you down? Sigh!

Theres a serious side to stalky! Who would've guessed!?....(Not I!!) Not sure when the survey was published however I recall the results clearly identifying 87% of men fancied their 'wing man's' wife/partner. The breakdown also revealed some pretty scary data, with over half admitting to liaison's with same! Que Julesjordan's post. As a byline, My theory is that to be human is to be bi sexual. For if one is to engage in same sex relationships, albeit of a non broke back mountain kind, surely there must be some kind of attraction? I could go into more detail however essentially, not many 'hetero' guys respond well....

i'm of the opinion that information would be correct Mynameonurlips. like the old cliche, the grass is always greener on the other side.(like 2 schoolkids swapping sandwiches, because they both think that the other persons taste better!) at the risk of sounding like an amateur psychologist, i personally think that there is something unbalanced and fundamentally wrong, with someone who feels the need to steal another mans woman. nothing wrong with a bit of harmless flirting. but i think if you have strong moral and ethical principles, that stealing a girl off a mate would'nt sit well with you.however, i guess under the veil of the conscious mind, there is all sorts of dynamic sexual energy(kundalini if you will) and magnetism going on. you cant decide who and where you will be sexually attracted to someone. ah, the never ending battle between desire and morality. chris xoxo

All you have to do is look at the Mavrick and Goose scenario (literally wingmen)... You need a good wing man stalky, and I understand what your saying. When they are not there flying just isn't the same. My wing man has a lot of issues with his girl, and yeah I tell him to drop her (mainly cos she's a bitch). She constantly calls him when they are not together (she doesn't like me at all taking him away for beers and such), and he could do much better. In short you need to get involved with your wingman's personal life because it reflects back. And likewise if he's a good wingman he should be looking out for you too.Less pokie machines, more pool tables. less silence more pub rock.... Good luck stalky.

Three states of consiousness...Kundalini, Mindfulness and many other theory's one can apply in order to aquaint themselves with...themselves is not something to be taken lightly. I've seen and attempted to assist in putting back the pieces of 'train wreck' pseudo psychological self help practices. I am an avid supporter, however, of sequential self investigation and exploration of one's psyche with the assistance of a trained professional..as their wing man. Sexuality, is a playground which often acts as a trigger to ones search for enlightenment. An ongoing right of passage as each decade brings with it an entirely different sub set of awareness. Speaking from experience, the turn around of my sexual predilections has been huge since no longer being a 'breeder'. As I am no longer driven to mate for continuity of my genetic lineage. Suffice to say....its a damn smorgesboard out there with a few exceptions of which I have control, those being the partner of another whether I know the 'other' or not.... Thanks Christopher....nice to take the brain out for a stroll occasionally lol

I've never stolen another man's girl but I've had my share of grass cutters. Meah. Lovers are not possessions. They act on their own will. I'll say when someone I care about upsets me but that's usually the extent of protest. Live and let love. We are all capable of loving more than one, and we can even do that concurrently but as they say, to really love someone is to let them leave if they need to go. Naturally, if it is your best mate doing the grass cutting, then that's really going to hurt. So many best mates are the jelous kind and want what you have.... Hugs Stalky

My best mate and I studied together, her goal...Geology seeing as how I already knew how to heal them (in a fashion) Mine was to better understand those funny lookin two legged beings that walked upright (some with the aid of a shopping trolley but again..thats another story) Anyhoooo....I recall the first time I visited the uni bar...and forced to sit with my mates group of science nerds (they looked it too, apart from my mate cos she is HOT) they were talking their language...yackity yack..bla bla..I'm drifting off into lala land wondering if I should join any of the on campus groups..such as the radical lesbians..cos I liked their haircuts.. BAM!! then it hit me like a bolt of lightening geomorphology...process seizmic activity..interaction of impact cratering fluvial erosion... and variable hydrologic forcing..!! OMG..I was getting turned on...like REALLY turned ON..gone were the nerdy geo geeks....here were some extraordinarily spunks who's oratory proclivities were getting me...erm...damp!!! And so it began....My love affair with words...and just like a blokes wang...the bigger..the better!! (LOL) So, when I employ anything containing more than one syllable....Im engaging in my special brand of foreplay...as you said Christoper aphrodesiac of the mind....yumm

Comeandgetme68... it so happens that my latest wingman is a gay man ... So you see... .there's no need to strike a wingman off your list of essentials for the sake of one heterosexual arsehole. Anyway.. I'm sure we've discussed these questions more openly in private in one of my previous incarnations. au35whatever ~ That stuff is straight out of my wardrobe buddy... but the speedos are truly retro.. and indeed .. that photo was taken when I was 18 years old.. at Budgewoi.. go figure. The speedos disintegrated in the spa pool about 15 years ago because someone was grabbing at them.... I mean can you blame them? Take a look at that budgie for fuk sake.. hehe.. :p Lippy ~ it would be easier for me to keep up with you if my posts went straight into the forum.. but at the moment my posts have 5 - 10 hours time lag.. sometimes lucky and they go straight through. Anyway.. it's a real bore having the lag... certainly keeps me isolated from the forum chat. Hugs Stalky

I'll never forget the dissolution of a great friendship of several years with a woman many friends and family thought of 'as that kind' of friendship you know, where two women are so close they just HAVE to be gay (like ffs) She took it upon herself to 'test' my new budding relationship with a meaty bite...by offering herself to him..went down something like this 'Hey, J is a great woman, but look at me, my bod is HOT, wouldnt you take some of this action over J's anyday?" When it all hit the fan, her rationale was that she just wanted to make sure he was the 'right one' for me. That action & some other's which followed.....led me to make a hard decision.... I cut her loose In hindsight, I wish she had been successful in luring him away cos it cost me seven of my best years! Tho at least I broke my 'relationship' record!

Well, there are definitely times when you really should stand your ground and fight for what you want, then and there. Sadly, I've lamented the times where I didn't.. and other times where I have... I've ultimately wondered why I bothered. I guess my timing is out of kilt... but this is one reason why it's a good idea to just look towards tomorrow.. lolz. 7 of your best years..... I'm sure you could look at that whole situation in a different light, myname. .. or do what I do and just let it wash over you like it never happened... I mean, I wouldn't be a narcissist with such high self regard if I didn't have a mechanism for protecting myself against self criticism would I! God I love being me. So logical. :p I'm leaving on my bike ride in a few minutes... so I might not be able to log in... hate using i-phone for logging into this site.. too slow... and I cant log in at McDonalds... lolz... so chances are I will catch up with all this banter in around a week... have fun kicking sand around the sandpit peeps! I've heard so many stories about male and female dishonouring their same sex relationships (non intimate) Quite disheartening when one suffers at the hand of their so called wing man/ett BUT....on the other hand a lesson for us to examine the choices we made & what we've learnt along the way. Seeking similarities as opposed to the redundant 'law of opposite attraction' is my motto....(not so easy to implement tho) How's this for a post? What does your ex's say about you? (as in choices etc) Not so sure I'm brave enough for that one just yet...lol Love ya work Trish! xx

I am hear to brag about my wingwoman! she is the best...always tells me off for being the lazy one that I am with my hair not being done or even an ounce of makeup is on....i love going out with her in general. we are out to have fun and usually her concept of getting the hotties is offering not just her for the nite...but the two of us! Now if sharing isn't caring between friends i dunno wat is! for me, i tink it has come to the point that if there was feelings for one of the guys, we would tell each other and not step onto each others toes unless it comes down to "so want that 3some wit me and my guy?"the most fun i tink with my beautiful lady friend is that she seems to love going to the "parties" more than i do yet she likes to brag to others that im the master of swingers parties....ahhheeemmm im now the one being dragged :Dgotta find a wingman/woman who can drag you out of any situation whether it is that ur stuck with a totally repulsive person who wont leave u alone to having to have a shoulder to cry on at 4am! There is always someone out there for everybody who is warm hearted and kind and understands no matter what that friends are always there and never step over the line (if you have boundaries).Love to all RHP forum lovers!

Pets are pets... not wingmen. Anything that is willing and able to stick it's nose up your butt while you're going at it on the couch may never be a wingman. Admittedly some people would look for this trait in a wingman, and to those I wish bonne chance, but it's not my cup of jaeger.

Why would anyone want to hook up with a bird that their best mate wouldn't screw if he got half a chance and why shouldn't she think the grass might be greener on the other side of the fence? Give up the jealousies a relationship is rarely damaged much by someone having a bit on the side it's the mostly that people think they have a right of ownership of their partner that causes the breakup. Slavery is O'K in some societies but should be condemned in ours.
