What's Your Ideal Way To Spend Sunday

August 03 2014

It's Sunday! Let's say the housework is all caught up on, they yard work is done, car, ute or bike is washed and spic and span and you're not working today. What is your ideal way to spend the day? Mine: watching V8 supercars on TV with a lounge room full of friends (usually a bunch of loud guys as none of my female friends share my love of motor sports) pizza and beer, followed by a BBQ and a few games of pool.

Lunch at Stokehouse on the Brisbane River, a sunny day with the temperature in the mid 20's, with 3 or 4 friends enjoying local seafood and a good quality white, whilst we talk the afternoon away about everything and nothing.

I'm looking at piles of washing and dirty dishes, I've just got home from playing golf all day after getting to sleep at 5am after a blokes' night. But I'm out the back having a beer and listening to the footy, because tomorrow's Darwin Cup day - a public holiday! Ah, the serenity.... - Posted from rhpmobile

Would be in bed with an attentive lover... *sigh*... Unfortunately I don't live in an ideal world. So this Sunday was spent with kids, cleaning, shopping and watching movies. - Posted from rhpmobile

My favourite Sundays are spent in the company of friends, probably having 'dunch'; a meal type of our own creation. It is served around 4.30 with wine and laughter as sides, and allows everyone to graze well and be in bed (sober) at a reasonable hour for a Sunday night.

But I still prefer mine. Arranging one now but it'll have to wait three weeks. - Posted from rhpmobile

...MissB's suggestion, which is the ideal, or failing the presence of an attentive lover, at a quiet pub with some friends playing pool and discussing assorted rubbish.

In bed with my lover, after spending a awesome night with him the night before. Alas this weekend, no such thing. Shopping and packing, readying to coming home from being overseas for work.

would be hitting the city for a leisurely stroll in the sun, with a drink here or there, catching up with a few friends, or dare I dream..., a nice man. Reality Sunday dragging my arse out of bed, changing the sheets, a few more loads of washing, run down the street for some necessities, chop some firewood, do some dishes, cook roast dinner, light the fire, was going to have a bath but the kids have so far consumed the bathroom so here I am.

Sounds like you love "shiftin' gears, burnin' diesel & deliverin' shit", I too share that passion. You must run the Hwy if you're headin' somewhere to get in line for the mornin'? If anybody ever "bag's ya' for bein' a Truckie, just tell em'" the only thing that "doesn't get delivered in trucks, is babies". Have a safe one man. Cheers P.L.

Ideal Sunday would be in bed, having sex all day stopping to eat from time to time Reality was walk along the beach with the hubby and kids and stopping for brunch in the beautiful weather we had today. Having a friend over for a cuppa and booking our next trip to Bali.. Was a good day - Posted from rhpmobile

I'm only 1 km from the beach so I'd fit a swim and a couple of hours on beautiful Terrigal beach in there if it was reasonably warm. In fact, even now, I might go down for a wander on the beach and maybe a little bit of fishing in the lagoon. In winter, it would depend if I had lady's company... if I did, I'd pop down to the local which serves up a wonderful Bistro lunch and have a few relaxing beers. If on my own, I' may do the same but would probably, as I did today, have a quiet one at home after sleeping in till about 10. Catch up on the news and watch a movie or some of the things I taped on Foxtel during the week and couldn't watch... Can even take a drive to Sydney and see any one of my relatives from kids to siblings, parents or even grandkids... So many things to do when you're free and your own.... But....

Wake mid morning with a beautiful woman wrapped in my arms. After the initial morning coffee and chat wander down to a small cafe by the beach.Have a smooth latte and big brekkie whilst watching the surf roll in under the warm sun.Bit of a swim, dry on the beach in the sun and then a walk around the local markets.Afternoon sees a group of friends gather at the local beer garden for an early dinner of beef, beers and banter.Once the sun has gone down and things get cool, retire to the lounge with said early morning lady and curl up under a blanket to watch a movie. (sigh)... SG

I work Sundays in a job I love, but in an ideal world..... Sitting on the back deck with a good book, a glass of pineapple vodka crush, a platter of cheese and crackers, John Legend singing in the background and my man by my side.... - Posted from rhpmobile
