yeah my ex’s family was catholic. We even had a full mass at the wedding !!! SO no meat on Good Friday just as a social habit. We didn't go to church at all. Did send the kids to catholic schools. Same to me as putting up a Christmas tree.

We definitely aren’t religious and Mrs Evo won’t allow the consumption of red meat on Good Friday for any of the family even kids who now live on there own. She puts on a lunch just to make sure

I'm catholic and went to very strict catholic boarding school. All I've ever known (heavily drummed into me) was no meat on Good Friday (Fish). Now I'm an adult, I like to do adult things and make my own choices. See how I feel tomorrow. Talking about Good Friday/Easter weekend and I'm curious, who here takes it off for "cultural leave"? I mean if other cultures have certin times of year for leave IE: Aboriginal smoking ceremonies, Chinese new year, Muslims on Friday for pray/ramadan, so why can't Catholics take Good Friday/Easter Sunday off-mainly aimed at shift workers cause 9x5 mon-Friday take as public holidays no matter what religion they are. I once heard that the original Pope's decree about not eating meat on Friday was a purely economic/political decision and not based on theology at all. Something to doing a deal with fishmongers to encourage people to eat fish. Not sure if this is true or not but it does sound very plausible.

Im not religious and my family always had a meat free day on good Friday...we still have a seafood day every good Friday...i think i just do it because it's what my mum always did as well...however I just really love seafood so i am going to take any opportunity that allows me to eat it all day

We are creatures of habit. We desire a constant realising that or not. Self awareness will help with that,,, I imagine.

I ate sausages on Good Friday Technically all the shite in sausages could mean they’re not classed as meat but I really didn’t put much thought into it … Actually… They were honey beef sausages and I got them by accident. Surprisingly yummy
