Litonya, AWESOME TOPIC... I feel the same happiness. Its amazing isn't it. It's taken me a long time, many ups and downs, loads of tears and lots of joy to get here...I know my journey has just begun. I have some hurdles coming up in the next 6months (like my daughter heading to India for volunteer work) but one thing for sure is....I won't be alone as I have me. The world is my oyster. :) FOXY

your posts in the forums Litonya, they are refreshing and a pleasure to read more often than not.the freedom I experience in my life. the quiet and calm as I sit here on the computer listening to the birds outside. the lemon tree received as a gift that has finally grown big enough to give far more fruit than we need. the modern conveniences that make life so much more comfortable. the house I call home, my loving husband, our kids and theirs and even the best son-in-law 2b a woman could ask for. the rain (easy to say all comfy inside the house lol) we've had so little of over here the last few years. the many sunny days we're having considering the season.for many things big and small so much so that I could go on about all day but suffice it to say, I try to keep my attitude of gratitude alive and strong even when it seems all is going wrong.

A second chance at a second chance. Over the last few years I have been lucky enough to survive some things I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It all came to a head in December last year after I nearly died due to a combination of alcohol and prescribed medication, stupid I know but I was in a bad way and being totally numb seemed a better option at the time. From that day in December I got off the medications, I cut my drinking down, and now I've not had a drink for 4 months. Now for the happy and grateful part- I feel like a new person, I've started writing the book I've always dreamed of, I have a better relationship with my daughter, with friends and family. My attitude towards the world is completely different. After 28 years I've finally pulled my head out of my backside and I'm taking responsibility for my life, my choices and my circumstances. I have never felt this positive in my entire life. The world is beautiful and full of possibilities. To those who are struggling- never give up!! You will never know how strong you are until you are tested.

Before you can be happy within your self. You have to first find yourself. Once you start to look after your own happiness , it has that knock on effect and everyone around you feels it. Just my observation... Jay

"If you don't know how you feel at the end of the day, then just be grateful that you still live and breathe the air again while many others don't have the chance"..... I am always grateful that I wake up in my own bed each morning instead of being at somewhere else, e.g. the hospital! Sometimes the simplest things in life make a world's happiness, I would say :-)- Posted from rhpmobile

how inspiring you always are. Too often we look at the lacks in our life ,instead of celebrating what we have. I celebrate that I have enough, and the possibility of more. I am indeed fortunate to live where I do ,as I type I can hear my chooks in the back garden browsing for worms, the sun is shining and I am about to walk out the door, wander up the road to spend the day with a wonderful group of people, students and staff at a small local school..... I have choices and freedoms and I am alive.

Tax time: Getting a nice healthy tax return (thou anything where you don't have to pay the tax man is a bonus I think), that will help to cover some bills and might even allow me to visit Sydney again for a meet and greet in the next couple of months. Friends new and old. That I have such a wide variety of friends to talk and share our good and bad times together. My dog: As much as she drives me crazy when she destroys my stuff occasionally, she is great company when curled up on the couch at night. Murder plots: I am also grateful that so far I have been able to keep my homicidal thoughts from being put into action...thou I am not sure anyone would miss my boss if I went thru with them.
