Not only that, but women bare the consequences of being a little careless. Men can scamper, whilst his consort has either to endure an unwanted pregnancy or the trauma of an abortion. Meanwhile venereal disease can go hidden within a woman doing untold harm, yet a man will be more aware as the symptoms are often more visible. Though circumstances can work to a woman's advantage, as it is the women who are in high demand here on RHP, and often have the luxury of being able to pick and choose. Man are generally less discriminate in who they have sex with, so a less attractive woman is more likely to get lucky than her less attractive male equivalent, unless he is exceedingly entertaining and most sought after company. An intelligent woman with good looks and an attractive personality should have it made. She is less likely to make dumb decisions or compromise her best interests, whilst at the same time have the pick of the crop. She is also wise enough to learn from her mistakes, and avoid repetitive calamities. Being lucky in love is another thing, as not all good things last forever. On the flip side, I'm sure many women here will counter my points with experiences to the contrary.

I have to agree with you Tinks. It is a case of double-standards and in this day and age of liberation and equality, it is stupid and demeaning. As far as I am concerned, what's good for one, is good for the other. In either case, I wouldn't be calling someone anything, except "lucky"!

I din't know there were rules on the subject, I only thought there were opinions and as everyone knows people are entitled to their opinion. The labelling of women as sluts etc I think comes down to envy, jealousy and want. Other women are either envious or jealous of the woman with many lovers and the men simply want the woman knowing full well that she's a goer. On the other side of the coin guys with many sex partners generally get a slap on the back from other guys, I don't think many women would be singing their praises. When it all said and done an individual should act in a manner that they are comfortable with, if your happy to have plenty of sex partners then goodo go for it, other peoples negative opinions shouldn't bother you. And for the record i'm happy to be called a slut, I just need more partners to make it happen! DJ

hey tinks , i do agree standards should be the same for both sex's but far be it for me to should anyone.... hehehe if ppl label others then who is the one with the problem? personally i dont like labels. no matter who u r if u enjoy what u do and ur not hurting anyone i say go for it. the more the merrier i say. and if theres room can i join in too. i could do with some old fashioned naughty fun... or il even just watch and cheer u on. i dont mind... hehehehehe and as for anyone beeing a slut if anyone should be called a slut i say its us guys.... but there i go again shoulding... hehehehe

Well Tinks, the age old question. As it is said, A slut sleeps with everyone but you..... And a good girl/guy. sleeps with everyone.... As I have been called a man slut,( and do try to live upto it lol ) ...I think what ever someone calls you comes from then being jealoues in some way or another... If she is sleeping round good on her she has what it takes to get a guy in bed. And please him. As with a guy he has what it takes to attract woman, seduce them...and keep them happy. Society sets standards for men and woman. If we lived by them , non of us would be on this site , and never of meet. So we have all broken another of societies law...Do we care I think not ..if we did. No1 would enjoy the lifestyle we do.. So Im a slut, shes a slut, we all sluts wether it be chat sluts , sex sluts chocolate sluts... Who knows If we worried about to much then we loose the life we love ....... Veva Le Slut .... well well well where can i start, the term slut (the label) i find is pretty much used when jealousy gets in the way, both a women and man can be referenced i suppose as a slut, this question thou has 2 many ways of being addressed, for me if a person is not hurting anyone and is carefull (safe) then its just not worth any wasted time talking about it. i for 1 am not into myself sleeping around, of course there are so many who dont mind, again i say safety and not to hurt anyone, but i am no judge and no right to judge. its also impossible to cast a net over folks and then label them, who are we to know why folks prefer 1 thing to another, times, situations are all differnt for every person on this planet, the big negative here is more with those who stand around judging, sure think someone is a slut, folks cld be right, but why bother, weak folks look at other and pick pick, not strong people who say dont waste my time i'm busy here loving my own life. i am sure this question will be answered in so many differnt ways, hense we are differnt, dont label or judge, find something more relevant to one's own happieness and values then those of others. let folks play and enjoy life, dont judge, dont like it then dont stand still move I say,

tha't swful, hurtfull words do bug me... but is the issue the person speaking or the words? maybe we should reject ppl that call other ppl slutts an allow the word to be used in a possitive sence buy those who want to use it to describe them selves? like a short form of hedonist-libertine. I dont think it will ever change Tinks There will always be those that use the word slut as a degradation. There will always be men that like sluts, for obvious reasons. There will always be people that think of themsleves as being slutty. And then there will be those that make no judgement becuase they like /love/respect you for being you and dont get into mindless categorising of people:) or for that matter couldnt give a flying f*@& what you are doing lol Viva la difference Dev xx

Nadi, when you're young and it is used the way I explained to LRE then it is bullying. Hence, my opposition to it's use. It doesn't mean the same when you are as old as me....lol...I'm pleased I've never fit into a category regarding my sex life. If you find it a compliment or that it just identifies who you are then that's up to you Hunny.... Smart ps...LRE, I feel bad for a good many fellas that are in a relationship where the sexual side is ordinary. i find the term "slut" offensive and outdated to be honest. i'm an old fashioned "nice guy". i have my values, my morals. and i find a confident woman very attractive. someone that is determined in their pursuit of happiness should be applauded. i don't cheat. never have never will. i like sex. i'm shy. i'm comfortable in my skin. so be it. i'm almost envious of men and women that can boldly pursue pleasures of the flesh. the word slut has no place in my society. if a partner cheats on me.... that's a different word altogether. 2 letters are the same as in slut. drop the s and the l. ad a c and n in there. grrr. cnut.... tinks, its all due to the perception that the way were raised, boy/girl man/woman and what society perceives that to be, i dont suscribe to that theory personally. but many do. i firmly belive, that everyone is equal, and i dont think any less of any person that has multiple parteners, infact, i tend to think good on you, as long as everyone is happy and no one gets hurt, then whats the problem????

Interesting too is the difference in connotation between "slut" and "slutty". If you're described as being a slut then it's invariably negative. Even if the term is used in a playful manner, such as "Ooh baby, I'm gonna be your slut tonight", the term is getting it's power from the negative connotation it holds. But if you're described as being slutty - say, "You look a bit slutty tonight" - there's something a little naughty, a little bit playful, a little bit raunchy about it. It's not entirely negative and derogatory. Or am I alone in finding this distinction?

It's a cultural thing. Things are very slowly getting better...I hope :S Legally e are equal, but reality is still quite different...fundamental thinking must be changed for that.

I think its all in the way the word is sent out to u ... Yes i would be greatly offended by someone calling me a slut intentionally using it in a deragatory way simply to attack me for what ever reason. But in the bedroom, being called a slut by someone i am being intimate with, and knowing that the term is delivered with much affection (if thats the correct term) has a totally different meaning.. but on the whole the word has been used for a long time to strip women of their power to feel or become equal to men. Now we have just far surpassed them lol Girl power !!

Yeh it is tha same conservative forces in society that saw us wind back the cultural clock 40 years or so in the last decade. Yes it is a fkd up double standard for sure to pat a 'stud' on the back but hang crap on a 'slut' for the same behaviour. Rest assured not all of us (and I mean blokes here) thik=nk that way, just as some smarter fellas - ahem... such as myself - love curvy women and are turned off by stick-insect wannabe mo-dels who feint at the sight of a salad with dressing on it!! LOL! personally I admire women with the guts to go their own way, enjoy and revel in their sexulaity. Gotta have some standards though and snogging 15 different guys at 10 mins to closing time in the pub is not classy or smart. I have to say that in most cases blokes who mouth off about 'sluts' are usually miffed that they have missed out and it is women who usually spit the most venom towards a flirty or 'out there' girl. Usually it all boils down to jealousy... Go get some girls, we don't all think you are sluts..

I can remember when the word fuck came out of the closet and how some people nearly fainted as the sound hit their ears. today the word has progressed to a reasonable statis, meaning that it is usually used to underline or force the importance of what is trying to be said. (as a result of poor verbal skills/schooling) The word slut, has also moved on, if ever so slightly. usually it is used by some mental giant to describe a woman who infact WONT sleep with him, so the meaning is completely irrelavent and offence shouldn't be taken but pitty should be given to the poor proffessional handler of his own meat. At other times of course it is simply an acurate description of what you are looking for, for eg, "I love a slut in the bedroom" That isnt to say she is one, it is something we all understand. There is no point calling a male a slut, because most of us would revel in the title, I know I do. So Tinks, in the end it is how you see the word projected at you and who said it. quote "my opinion of you isnt high enough for your opinion of me to matter" feel free to use it. PD

I agree with you tinker_65 I still stick to my rules of girl play only. We are branded so quickly as sluts/tarts whatever but its funny how guys will wank over one, it turns them on but then they are so quick to give us a name!! The problem here is they want it all.
