Winter Solstice

Today is winter solstice in the southern hemisphere, the shortest day of the year. There are many stories of our ancestors having ceremonies and rituals to celebrate this day. These days there are still people who observe these traditions because of their beliefs. What would you consider a suitable RHP celebration of the shortest day of the year? Who would you celebrate with, and how? Let your imaginations run wild!

The longest night! I think I'll celebrate by going to bed early and sleeping in. It's first day of summer in Europe today, can't wait to go there next month!

Always love when this day comes around.Going to and coming home from work in the dark is not for me.Roll on summer and daylight savings. Mr Luvsilver

We could do the traditional Celtic ritual although I think we may have trouble finding a virgin around here. I like the cold but hate the dark. Also longer days mean shorter skirts.
