Now I've just hidden my profile so I don't lead anyone on. But my life is just so busy and unpredictable.Yes I have a little bit of spare time but last minute hook ups just don't work for me so I stay celibate Poor me!!! On the plus side I'm a born again Virgin.

Mad hours when I am working, although this new roster doesn't have enough days and the pay rate is less than I am used to. Feels hard to fly like an eagle with clipped wings. But I am managing.

It doesn't really. I've been doing shift work for 20+ yrs (same role 20yrs). I work 12hr shifts on a 5 line rotation roster having sometimes 5-8/9 days off in a row, depending how I manipulate the roster. 😇 I have learnt to compromise, plan ahead. Sometimes I'm spontanous, other times I'm not. When I work, I work, when I don't work, I don't work. It is what it is. 😊 Ms Foxy

Is a lifestyle unto its own... I head to work Sunday afternoon, finally arrive back Friday afternoons sometimes Saturday mornings...which leaves me about a bare 24 hours each week... Some weekends see me driving to Brisbane to have my 24hours off up there... There’s no set run, and usually don’t have a clue where I’m going to next until I’m unloaded... running your own practice.. flexibility they said...bollocks to that. clients wanting to meet after their work hours finish. weekends lost catching up with paperwork grrr so unfortunately dating / meeting up etc has to be very very spontaneous. social planning ? impossible at times. maybe thats the allure of rhp..

It is the mental tiredness from my job which acts as the inhibitor; it is intense work as I am constantly interacting with people with varying degrees of fragility and trauma. I won't meet during the week unless its people I know very well, because it impacts on the next day too much. I'm pretty much on call 24/7; if a client reaches put to me at midnight its because they have no one else to turn to. I need to be there for them, even if it is just to give them numbers for other support services. This happens maybe once a week. Weekends are my down time, although I usually catch up on paperwork on Sundays so I can start the week afresh. Yes...its way too much pressure, and after 8 years of it, the toll has been significant. It has certainly impacted my capacity for fun because I'm too bloody tired - mentally and physically 😢

It is what it is. 😊 Ms Foxy I did shift work for many years and agree - you must plan ahead and compromise.Sometimes I wish I was doing shiftwork again. 830 - 530 5 days a week gets boring at times.
