Would you travel to meet someone?

August 08 2015

I was wondering what other people think of this, as in my searching preferences I only search locally but maybe I shouldn't? I was chatting to someone who wasn't in the same city as me and I think we're very compatible but it didn't go anywhere although I was willing to travel ... specially because of my nature of work I travel to Melbourne and Brisbane a lot Are you with traveling and you don't search for just locals? Or you only will see someone locally?

I did once, to Sydney, after we had been talking for months. No regrets, it was a lovely weekend and he was a gentleman. Would I again.....yes. But there are lovely guys here in Perth, so its probably not going to happen. I know a couple who are together now, they travelled interstate to see each other, and he has just moved here to stay with his girl. I say, take the chance?

Life is about experiencing it all..... If it's not meant to be, or even just for fun, at least you won't be left wondering... Which in itself can be damaging.... You may have the most awesome time, you will definitely learn something about yourself regardless of the experience...Take the plunge... YOLO...

I have no problem traveling interstate to meet someone I have a connection with and have done it a few times now. Makes sense to me, just never know what might happen or who you might meet. No good pondering on the "what ifs" in life, it could be taken away from you at any time....💋

Quoting 'Freya70' I went to Gladstone once..and came back..It was Gladstone 😨xxFreya Hey! Gladstone is a nice place to live! ;) To the OP: Yes, while Gladstone is a nice place, there is not much opportunity here. I am happy to drive several hours to nearby towns. Further than that I would hesitate, fortunately I travel often for work, so sometimes things work out. Grab life, who know where it could take you. She could be your soulmate.

I keep distance well away from any potencial lover. the last thing I want is to fall in love and then due to distance only get limited opportunity to see each other. it would also reduce the chance of meeting someone local. Time is to precious to be wasting it on endless travel, long separations, and rushed encounters. Love should be fun not a chore.

I always travel, life is too short to be left wondering. Besides I don't like to play in my own backyard, I'd much prefer to play elsewhere.

Have done the travel (not interstate) but other ends of the city. While its fun, the driving and loss of sleep does start to add up. It's much nicer to have someone nearby that can drop by on a whim. I'm always open to meeting new people but when distance is at play, I don't overly get my hopes up. Or maybe, I'm just lucky to have some delicious ladies near by ;)

Always worth checking out what the country has to offer, one missed one is one you never get back right? Recently went to Sydney and it was so good, solid week of fucking, who wouldn't want that. Me thinks I need more of that so going back mmm

Since I'm looking for regular lovers, I'm only seeking men from Sydney. Over the last few years, I've made a handful of exceptions and they were all forum posters (at that time) I just couldn't resist. I very fondly remember a invite from an interstate man. One of the best dates I've had here.

I must admit I have travelled far and wide to see people I have met on here. I am from Newcastle and like the local talent very much but sometimes I am intrigued and venture further afield lol. during the 10 years or so I have been on here I have gone to Sydney by ???? ,Campbelltown x 2, Grafton, Taree 2 or 3 times Nelson Bay, and the biggest was LA lol I suppose if you think she is the one lets fly. I am now trying to stay local well NSW anyway see what happens in the future

At the moment I mainly only chat or meet people from interstate... I don't have time when I'm home in Perth to see anyone... I have children and girlfriends here.. But when I travel interstate for work I am free and I have time and energy to meet people... I love it - it's like going to a different world 😋🍷🌟👌🎉 Xxviolet

Some meets are really disappointing, imagine traveling all the way there to be let down. I travel for work, it's rare that I don't hook up in some context, but I'm there anyway, so no loss if it's disappointing. - Posted from rhpmobile

Never fucking doing that again. A complete and utter disappointment and he was from WA. I must have found the only 'dud' one there 😉 Mary xx

2 hours (to Dandenong) and then back, for about a half hour play meet once. I knew it would be something like that, as it was a specific and rare fantasy. Does that count?

All of the meets we have had so for have involved travel. Longest was a 4.5hr drive...was it worth it, you betcha.Probably depends on your situation as well, for us we would prefer not to play in our own back yard, so travelling is what we just have to do.

It's just easier and if you hit it off and something more than just an 'encounter' occurs, you can continue it without the waiting (to see each other), the cost and the time you need to spend for one meeting. I am probably more this way at the moment, as I'm studying. I have travelled in the past, but, as some people here are aware, my ultimate goal is to meet someone who wants something more than an FB, FWB or NSA. Being also on a Vanilla site, I definitely keep that local, as the vast majority of people arte looking for a permanent relationship or at least something that could turn into that. So, yes I have travelled to meet someone, but for the moment, I' happy to stick local (say 50 kms), more due to circumstance than anything else, at this stage.

I do consider Sydney, as it's only an hour and a half to most parts (less to the northern suburbs) and my family all live there (so I do get down there often to visit my kid, grandkids, siblings and Mum & Dad...) in fact, I'm going today for the next 10 days to house sit for my parents while they holiday in Hawaii... I can also fit the Meet and Greet in while there... So, if someone where to pop up in a timely manner during that time, I have my Mummy's permission to have 'visitors' in their lovely home (Near Picton, actually). I also have lectures that I attend in Sydney occasionally. So, as I said, Sydney is not a problem for me if I seem to hit it off with someone online (and they, I)... Shameless promotion... HUH???

To travel... Within reason, and provided I can find a valid reason to head to wherever.. My location limits me to who I can connect with, so some sort of travel is a must. I can't count the amount of times I've looked at a profile and been disappointed because I know due to distance that nothing would ever happen. I quite often wished I lived in Sydney as there seems to be an abundance of ideal men. - Posted from rhpmobile
