another new couple in Perth

Hi all We are new to all of this - though it has been on our minds and in our late night discussions for years. Slowly getting to look around all of this site doing a lot of reading :) There seems to be a lot more ongoing chat here which makes it a bit more real and normal/everyday. Finding it nervewracking sending initial messages to people we'd be interested in meeting, a severe case of writers block kicks in and we don't want to seem pushy or over eager. Not sure what we can do about it except keep on sending messages to people we'd like to meet and hope some of them can see past initial nerves. And then reply, even if it's to tell us they're not interested. Any suggestions on how to write a winning first message? Hoping to get out to a club this weekend to meet more people in Perth and try and connect that way. If nothing else, the reading and talking between the two of us has raised the energy and excitement for the two of us. Now to find others to share it with. Wren & Olly

There have been other topics raised about what makes a good first message and I am sure others will be along shortly to give you advice. I think as long as your first message is friendly and not overly sexual or doesn't come across as desperate or creepy most people will then go to your profile to see if they may be interested. Therefore you do need a good profile. It's one of those things, I am sure you will make some rookie mistakes at first. We all do! But you will get better as time goes on as well as your understanding of what you really want. Welcome and good luck.

Messages are difficult to write.Why not check if they have skype and then you can chat and get a better feeling if compatible. leggo
