Well I haven't experienced the change, but I have successfully given up smoking cigarettes for over a year now thanks to Vaping :)

only because of health problems that were related to it...best thing i have ever done! i would still have one or two if i am drinking and in the company of smokers...but would never go back to it full time again..i loved it...the social aspects of it...the way it could calm you down if you were upset or angry...and lets face it...smokers are a lot more fun lolbut i can run now without running out of breath...don't get chest infections anymore...and if we go out to a restaurant or somewhere alike, my first thought isn't where i could have a ciggie...lol good luck it is worth it xx

Hypnosis worked. Walked in a heavy smoker walked out a non smoker. That was 4.5 years ago

I can sit with a group of smokers and have no desire to have one. There is no battle for me, never experienced a craving for one after the session. I've been very lucky

Giving up smoking but with other addictions I find it is very much mind over matter If you think it's going to be hard then it will be, If you think you can beat the cravings and withdrawals then more power to ya and more money in your bank account :) - Posted from rhpmobile

tackling it much harder... But you really do have to decide now is the time to stop putting them in your mouth and stick to it . Work on your mental strength and in time you will win. Coming from a sporting background I never took up the habit but I have friends who did and have had many conversations helping those wanting to quit. Those who were successfull agreed that mentally they needed to be stronger than the habit. It's a matter of putting those thoughts into positive action..

I was listening to Hack recently and some talk about e-cigarettes. A few callers had said they switched over to e-cigs, then over time would just buy less potent refills. I guess you could just buy less potent cigarettes also but I'm not sure, have never been a smoker myself, but the milder refills sounded like a good idea :-)

No such thing as less potent ciggies. Giving up ciggies is easy I've done it hundreds of times ! Argh argh. Patches come off in hot weather or when you get physical but are good because they even out the craving, it's a constant delivery so it changes the experience from the peak-trough that is smoking, this helps a lot. I use the chewy and am now addicted to them but it's better than smoking, some days I hardly chew, other days it's constant, I don't care I'm not smoking. I like having them around because it's better to hit one of them than make that fateful angst ridden drive to the shop. I've used the drugs and they work but the full on technicolour dreams did my head in. That doesn't happen to everybody though. Cold turkey people love to skite about how easy it was for them, tell them to fuck off and just do what works for you. Apart from the therapies the other thing that helps is staying away from smokers, easier now smoking is banned in pubs and restaurants not so easy is avoiding friends who smoke, in hindsight and it sounds arrogant but now I have better friends. The change. Purely from heresay obviously but hormone replacement therapy has many happy recommendations. Particularly regarding libido. Stay strong.

Load of BS.. ? All they do is give you the impression they're doing something when all along its a marketing gimmick to make some uncaring bugga richer... Best accept it starts and ends with you and your determination , then you'll start getting somewhere..

Hiya Redhot, I used champix to help me quit. My last cigarette was 8 years ago. I found champix to have a lot of side effects so I don't recommend them although they are effective. First 3 months are a nightmare. I do believe it essentially comes down to determination. I can't give any advice on menopause though I can recommend that you google or youtube Dr Jess Peatross. She has some great advice about hormone imbalance.
