i like a man who has a brain and can do things like spend a quiet night in playing a board game. makes him attractive in that all round quality way. what i cant stand is pretentious boys who think they are smart just cause they went to tech school and just want a dumb ass woman so they can feel good about how brainy they think they are guess its a fine line

well that depends on where and when lol - if u insist on playing boardgames during sex then i can imagine it would be a turn off.. but if u play boardgames for social enjoyment then i cant see a problem My kids grew up playing boardgames with us - it was a family social event lol and lots of fun ... I dont know quite what u are asking .... hmmmm

We have a board game on our laptop, electronic version, and its very naughty. Input your limit of what you will do, and then spin the dice.

...with what both Spart and Tina said. Good grief, there's a law against good old fashioned fun?? Ok, so maybe it depends on the game too, there are some I find geeky, but I would never tell someone to rack off just because they're into it. Just because I'm not into something, doesn't mean I can't still be friends with someone who is. How shallow was that person. You're better than that anyway cold. Agreed sometimes we have to modify ourselves a little, but that doesn't mean change our core selves (unless there's something seriously wrong) Intelligent men are attractive to me, as long they don't try and tell me how good they are.... THAT is a distinct turnoff. But someone who has a brain and uses it... nothin' wrong with that at all. Chin up matie. Viking.

Doesn't matter what you do (I'm reinforcing this for myself as I write here), just do it with passion. I mean do what you love and you'll attract the right person/people. They ARE out there. It might seem like you are in the utter minority BUT you AINT the only one. And I find that it's usually the ones who are in the minority groups who are quiet - so don't give up, just be honest, like with this post, and voila!

Hey Cold, don't stress over it mate, if a woman has called you a loser or geek or nerd, she's just showing how shallow she really is, which can be quite humerous from a certain perspective, as she has probably bitched about guys being shallow LOL! I agree with Spari & Tina, and I think Viking is spot on! I asked a beautiful lady one night at a nightclub why she was single after she had labelled me a geek loser for playing strategic games, and she said that her last boyfriend was an arsehole. He always went out with his mates and got shit faced and either got into a fight or cheated on her or both. I then asked her who was the real loser here then, me, or the idiot that would let such a beautiful woman slip through his fingers. At least if she was with me she would know where I was with my mates, that I wasnt blind drunk, that I wasnt going to cheat on her, that I wouldnt ring her at 3am to pick me up from the police station, that I wouldnt mistake her for a punching bag and that I wouldnt throw up on her in bed. In fact, I would even treat her like a goddess when I got home for letting me out to play with the boys LOL! Ahhhh, it was one of the best short term (6 weeks) relationships I have ever had! What happened? She ended up going back to that loser who beat her because she apparently loved him and thought she could change him. So sad, must have been stockholme syndrome? Moral of the story? Dont let it get to you mate, 95% of women are very smart creatures and can work out where the best deal is. Games can be fun, especially when your naked LOL!

Hey Coldz! I married a self-confessed geek, and his mind (or more specifically the way it works!) is a huge turn-on for me.....I love his depth and intelligence, but the way he can be a little nerdy too at times....if any of you know a true geek, you'll know they are on the whole extremely genuine and sincere....and hey, when it comes to board games, one musn't rule out a good round of naked Twister! Oh, one more thing about intelligent men....they generally know how to stimulate more than just the female mind.....and like to turn on more than just their laptops! From a self-confessed geek lover.....

You'll notice that most - if not ALL - people, when referring to intellect, tend to refer to someone ELSE, and their enviable gifts and talents. Whereas, you...ALWAYS refer to YOURSELF, and your capacious mental ability, and also like to include the collective "we" when anyone refers to intellect. WELL, why not use your (apparent) intellect and analytical prowess to see if there's something wrong with that picture. Because there IS. Conceit and self-indulgence LEAP to mind, eh A little self-conscious, and insecure, eh. Didn't get those all important qualifications or recognition, eh. Need a little acceptance and acknowledgment, eh... W-e-l-l-...Shut the fukkup, STOP (continuously) talking about YOURSELF alla the time and EARN some respect. ~~Fed-up of Fakers F~~ **Hasn't ANYONE else noticed this, or is it just me**

I reckon: Case 1: "Hey, wanna relax with a glass of red, a pizza and play board game X?" Sounds good - no turn off in my book, in fact I reckon would be a good quiet night in leading to something more substantial!! Case 2: "Hey, have a look at my board game collection - I've got every version of Monopoly from the "suburbs of Baghdad" edition ranging through to the "star ranger" edition where you buy star systems and simulate the pain of paying rent by strapping electrodes to your nipple rings, and, hey, you can't buy that property, that's my favourite I've always had since I was a kid.... " Yeah - yawn. Is that the time??? Little to do with a guy using the brain and more the context I reckon!!

First of all, my names not Brian, its muttboy's pet name for me, I beleive he thinks that Life of Brian suits me very well.... *shrugs* dont ask mer.. ask his shrink :P And yes I am a very strange boy. To this day, not ONE person worked me out. The only person that worked me out, is the one I have married to. Ive yet to meet her :P Im not saying Geek = Intelligence. Geek means Intense interest on deep study. Intelligence means Level of Understanding. I grew up being deaf, where i have no choice but to learn by observation, and work it out in my head, but trying to place myself in their shoes etc etc.. I have seen a lot, thought about alot of things. But that doesn't make me intelligence, it makes me Wise. It is the act of thought process of Observational learning, defines my intelligence. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways.. time for me pills and a ni ni sleep in my padded cell room :P

Funny how we let other peoples perceptions of whats is a turn on or turn off encroach into our personal head space...which in turn makes us take a second look at how others perceive us and all in the name of acceptance. So its quite easy to go from geek to freak in 2 seconds flat Well after 37 years on this wonderfull blue sipinning orb floating in space i have Learn't that accpetance to who you are and all the different parts that make up who you are...yes even the uly bits..are all there for a reason . That reason being that out there...there is some one who compliments you... or is so much like you in many ways. apparently its not cool for me to love and have these varied intrests in life.... rpg games ,read, garden, be into alternative therapies, discuss alternative theories...hike, fish camp, ride motorbikes, know how to replace the head gasket on a car, know how to rebuild a computer, like all music from classical to metal, enjoy art, opera, and photograpy......be a wonderfull freind and mother to 4 kids.... and to top it all off...be very imaginative uninhibited...(some may consider freaky...one girls kink is another mans freak...)lover. So whats my point...go with being honest about who you are , what you like....and what you want.....and you will get it

We're definitely in the geek category - we're both IT consultants, she's heavily into anime, and he's heavily into miniature painting. Surprisingly, the responses we've garnered have been rather positive, rather than the 'yech, geeks!' type of responses. So, no, we don't care very much if you're geeky or not, it's all in your personality and how you carry yourself and treat others.

I agree with LRE. In fact perhaps the mod could set up a new section (called something like "Fun & Games" for threads like the scrabble, jokes and the lyrics game (which I'm still scratching my head over). Getting back on topic, I think board games can be very sexy. I still daydream of a very memorable game of strip Hungry Hungry Hippos... and wince at a war wound received in a skirmish of strip Crossbows and Catapults. As for a new hobby, musical instruments are nearly always a hit with the ladies. I'd think hard about the lute though... blackeyed

I was just wondering who decided that if you play board games you are "Brainy" I have been studying Martial Arts for over 15 years and consider myself especially on this subject to be "Brainy". Who said playing "checkers" or whatever board games makes you brainy? Oh and I don't really care either LMAO

i honestly dont believe that you can relate playing a stategic boardgame to learning a martial art. okay where do i start - firts of most martial arts teach kata's basically doing the same manuever over and over again. this type of learning is called Rote. secondly although i do learn the rules of games the application and circumstances that occur during game play takes a very analytical and thinking brain to compete. but hey im not saying im a brainiac i do loose some times... just not often lolz Kaled - Training in "Western" Martial Arts since '95 - sword and board baby!!!

Its great to see all the differences in these forums.King of Geekdom there is nothing wrong with board games,in the same token i dont think theres anything wrong with martial arts either. After years ofg"repression"joining this site recently has been an eye opener. There are so many different types of people, shapes, sizes, needs, kinks. It is great to see the majority accept it.Ok you get the occassional bitchy/nasty comment but ive found people on here jump to your defence quickly even if they dont agree with you. As for the topic ive never thought about board games as a turn on or off.But if the person thought they were a turn off turn it into a strip board game....wouldnt be a turn off for long! jennifer102

I'm pretty sure you were referring to Blanka, but you could have also been referring to Vega, both have rolling attacks. Also, "Hold back, forward + punch" = Fixed. I'll have my internet to go thanks.

Id like to know what you are asking here coldz. Im also trying to figure out why playing board games seems to be linked by most that have answered as a sign of intelligence?? Im a teacher and yes we use board games to help children think analytical. So yes it does excercise the brain but so does many things. Im also wondering why its seen as a turn off and you are concerned. Many people dont like what activities some do but its not seen as a turn off as such more I guess as annoyance. If you are not playing board games during sex or when you are taking a girl out or talking about it 24/7 Im really not sure what the problem here is. Maybe take your board games to a new level, snakes and ladders is good with a couple naked!! If you like board games so what do what you enjoy. Kate xx
