  Meeka, maybe I've been hanging around the uneducated ones but then again, I'm not overly educated myself so that makes sense. Haha I'd imagine many of the ladies on here would of read books by these people that Freya named? I might have to read some myself. SF, I was genuinely interested in people's thoughts on the topic so it was my pleasure to post it :) I guess there are mixed opinions on the topic. So that's my answer.

These things are not unique to any country or culture. There are good people and bad people everywhere. Someone's familiarity breeds contempt I suppose. The husbands should turn around an tell them to get fucked. I would, but then again some people seem to get off on being treated badly or are so downtrodden they no longer know what to do about it. In each instance I have said "some" not all Aussie women. I agree that there are good and bad in all cultures and I would never generalise. I have given instances from as my personal experience and observations.   I have met and chatted with many men that have been "burned or disenchanted" by their negative experiences either through spousal abuse, the family court, etc. which has tarnished their idea of ever seeking a relationship, let alone a marriage with an Australian woman. This touches on far more complex issues that don't relate to this topic. Given the bad experiences these men have had I can understand their motivation for looking further ashore for love.   I am not condoning or condeming their actions. It is what it is! Equally there are women in the same boat who have gone overseas to seek better lives for whatever reason.   SF

  Hey pal dont give up yet, you are at an age where you should know what you want, but here is the clincher also knowing when and where to compromise. Australian ladies are a tough minded lot, because by and by they have to put up with a lot of male bonding shit, that on reflection we do not acknowledge. There are other sites that would have ladies that you would be interested in and vice a versa, you have to search and be prepared to be honest to find the person that you need in life. Thats the advantage of this era there are definitely more fish in the sea than the bad old days where the local pub club, school etc was dependant on more physical attraction first and finding out later that you are not compatible after the formal arrangements were done.Good luck.

  There are different types of education! But I was referring to the book learning type... Although you may see this type of info on The history channel?? Those women Freya mentioned are women who fought for women's rights going back to the late 1800's. they fought for change, they fought to get women the vote, they fought for equality, they fought to give women the right to work at equal pay (which we still don't have), they fought for more equitable laws, etc etc.

  Thanks Shaka! I'm a stubborn prick so giving up doesn't come easy. I'm open to anything that comes my way, whether its from here or abroad. I like RHP because the people seem more open minded than the others I've been on. Too many lies told on other sites I've found. I'm going to try join some social groups now when my little time permits. I was more curious to what women thought of the whole idea of the Mail order bride after my observations in Thailand. Meeka, I do realise that but with many the women I've been involved with, the books, movies and tv shows they were into were mostly drama and romance related. I think everyone should know these names and give thanks to the people who have done positive things for society. I think the word "Feminism" itself causes many men to shiver and maybe get a bit on the defensive. Maybe a new gender neutral ideal would be more suited to modern times? Humans fighting for human rights. :)

  We all want different things from a relationship. Most men that do purchase a bride are usually lonely or unattractive or both. I am certainly not insulted because I certainly wouldn't want them... I just feel sorry for the poor women that have to sell their soul for a better opportunities in life :(.

  We know an Aussie girl who has a face like a bag full of busted chisels and a body that qualifies for biggest loser and she goes to Bali to get laid. Her unfortunate state may well see her pregnant in an Indonesian slum hand crafting toothpicks. So I guess it goes both ways.

  Hi! Gavin:) I think it can be a means to an end for both Parties, each getting their needs met. Hopefully it continues to blossom into a Positive Relationship. There are cases at both ends of the spectrum where the Males are made fools of, taken for a ride lose money etc. Then there's the case where the Women are treated as virtual slaves, humiliated taken for granted.. The only way that can be sorted I feel is if the Prospective couple spend time together on a trial Period ie 6mths and have to attend regular reviews. have background checks.. Keep separate bank accts for min 2yrs when they would be eligible for citizenship.. They'll soon know by then if it's going to work.. Cheers Lu :)

  I known of men who have married woman from overseas. Sometimes it is a win/win situation. I am not too judge them. You may sit at your keyboard and think "these poor woman". Are they really? I do believe most were in a worse situation than when they ventured into this kind of lifestyle. xx

  Sometimes its not easy for men to find love, as the world shifted from the better days of Victorian romanctism.. to the 21st century Stereotypical.Imagine yourself, as a disabled person, regardless of your looks, wealth, or material ownership. Is it easy to find someone to like you for you? or do these people think "disability" is too hard... Do we think 40 year old virgin men has issues? or they just cant find a woman to like him more than just "friendzone"? etc etc...Mail order Bride, is probably they last and only option left.. (not just to disabled pple), but to guys who shit outta luck on finding love.Let me give you an example:I once walked up to a bar, waiting for my turn to be served, i said hello to the woman that stood next too me waiting. She looks at me up and down with such a disgusted facial expression.. and rolled her eyes.How does a guy feels? where all he wanted is to talk :S
