I'm professional, well educated...(yeah yeah) - aren't we all??

July 09 2019

So I love to spark debate. What is "professional" to you? What does it even mean? 95% of our messages begin with "I am a professional..." and so many profiles state "professional" in them. Professional what? Football player? Businessman? Nurse? Fireman?? Brickie? Does it matter anyway??? From our perspective it tells us nothing. It's even better when they add "well educated" then proceed to say "hope your (sic) well". If you use it I would love to know why, and what you think it implies...

Huge generalisations about the stereotypical "professional" person you have there...life in order? no mental illness??.. suicide ..??....really?....aren't they prime candidates..? A swinging lifestyle....is an alternative lifestyle...so you will meet a variety of people. Open the gate on your white picket fence in middle class suburbia....because this site will introduce you to all sorts of people...professional and unprofessional....!!! However you wish to define it. have fun :)

Lol, the ones that state they are professional are probably the least professional if they feel the need to say it. As for people saying they are discreet, well no shit so are the rest of the people on here.

I think people are just trying to find other folks they'll be comfortable with and who'll be comfortable with them and they're trying to find the right words to do it. Sure they're probably got it wrong but it's no easy thing finding people you'll be comfortable to have semi random sex with. At least for us it's not and I assume we're not the only ones. We often feel like we haven't got things to talk to people about. We're not that into footy, prefer test cricket to the short game, don't care about cars except to get somewhere, don't care about boats but happy to potter about in a tinny, don't really watch TV, spend time reading books. I've been tempted to use "professionals" to point to that but most of my workmates are the opposite so I don't think it would work. Could use Uni educated except the same applies. Bookish? Anachronistic? Nerdy? Not very sexy. So I guess people are just trying to find something that will get them people who are a bit like them I'm the hope of hitting it off more easily. The extroverts won't understand why that's even an issue, but extroverts never do.

If the world goes to shit ,,,, all their degrees ,,, all their money will mean nothing lol . I like ‘ Antichrist s ‘ answer ... Professionals ,,,, the real estate .

As clearly evidenced from the responses here, while 'professional' originally had a narrow meaning, these days people interpret it in vastly different ways. I wouldn't assume professional meant anything beyond employed. But I would anticipate that it might be in a field that requires a degree, adherence to a code of ethics, specialised skills or knowledge, and where this lifestyle would be frowned upon and may be career limiting if revealed. At the end of the day, professional is just one of many subjective labels. I like funny, sexy, articulate, accepting, trustworthy, and well-presented people. But what I find funny (quick, cheeky, silly, punny, sexual, innuendo) could be entirely different to what amuses you. So we might use similar descriptors, yet be astonished at who each other actually finds attractive. Ultimately, if the use of professional increases or decreases someone's interest then it's definitely served its purpose!

We are all professionals to some degree in something, i dont say it on my profile but im highly qualifed in many things because i love knowledge and money but when it comes to intelligence , educated doest mean intelkigent, i love non professinals who are free thinkers and not limited by material parameters, i can fuck a toop class person and had more intelligent conversations and encounters with non pros cause lets be honest i whoop most pros arses , intellectualy and many other ways but find non pros fascinating unless they are absolute skanks of course, if you wise and patient you will encounter the right people but dont limit yourself with parameters otherwise you miss alot , some are shallow, some are deep, so i experience them all

Let me tell you about a hook up I had in the city centre once. Long story short, extensive communication, all seemed good, met for a coffee and decided to play immediately. Fast forward to a semi private location, he pulls his dick out from his suit pants (tiny, had obviously used the rhp ruler lol) and ecpected me to get him off in his lunch break, barely even kissed me! On the surface though, this guy would be classified as 'professional' by many. Give me a tradie anyday. I prefer down to earth people who don't need to hide behind a persona

Miss T here of the couple on my single profile I had young professional because I was working in a very corporate world and was always dressed business.. ect Educated well that one puzzles me ... we are all educated one way or another .. I think professional is another ways to say time poor ...

  • RHP

I read it as more of a cue about lifestyle - they're focused on their career, probably time poor (but aren't we all these days).

If professional equals time poor, then I'm profession, along with the majority of people. Interesting how corporate people think they're busier than anyone else. Try working in the construction industry 12-14 hrs a day, then juggle family and fitness. Why do you think you're any busier? Still wreaks of elitism

A Profession is an area of vocation which is deemed to have an ability to affect its clients welfare greatly and as such is ruled by a governing society which is supposed to hold its members to a higher ethical ground. So any so called professional that will bill a client based on what they think they can get out of them is in no way a professional and these days that knocks around 95% of people out I fear. I belong to a true profession and I act in a truly professional way and I lament that I meet very few people who do the same but when I do I hold them very close!

  • RHP

For us Professional means that the we can hopefully expect an educated conversation, someone that has a job or wants a job, takes pride in themselves, is discreet and wants to be a positive influence in our world OR someone that’s not a Bogan, doesn’t flick dick pic’s or ask for nude photos in the first sentence. I don’t think it’s connected to a specific profession. And sorry..... but for those that see it as snobby or looking down at others - that’s your perception of yourself. Know your tribe and be happy in their company ❤️

  • RHP

Be happy in your tribe lmfao isn't it interesting that you think that. I don't have a 'beneath you' perception of myself, sorry to disappoint you but in all honesty probably the opposite 😂 I'm VERY happy with myself 😉 and neither would anyone else consider themselves beneath you. That's the whole point we're trying to make, but thank you for admitting your a professional wanker

Vocationally, I am a professional.I am an Engineer. So what?I am not doing engineering now.presently, I am doing labouring work, while I wait for that next engineering gig to come to fruition. So what does professional mean?I take it to mean that you have a degree. That should imply that you are an intelligent person. However, it is my experience that passing a degree does not guarantee intelligence. Many of my peers in Uni were not that smart and just wanted to pass. They did and now they are considered intellectuals. Wrong assumption. People with limited intellectual capacity can pass a degree and conversely, people with high intellectual skills may have no interest in doing a degree.A "professional" status does not define a person as intelligent, wise, mature or even capable. Moreover, the title of professional certainly does nothing to define the persona of an individual. While it does evidence that an individual was capable of enduring an onerous education process, it says nothing about the nature of the person. The bottom line.I am the person that I was when I was an unskilled labourer. The same person that I was as a professional (Engineer). The same person that I am now, again doing labouring work. And I will be the same person tomorrow, whether working as a labourer or as a senior engineer, making the big bucks (fingers crossed LOL)

Vocation does not define a person, professional status or other. Everyone on RHP, and in general, in life, spruiks their prowess as this and that.Professional, DTE, No BS, drama free, etc.The evidence is in the ability to walk the talk. Be the person professed to be.Be honest with yourself and to others. The fundamental rule is "seeing is believing".

For us it translates to “non-bogan” - not that there is anything wrong with being a bogan! I guess people are just trying to find others they get along with. From our perspective, I think we qualify - one of us has letters after their name, the other before their name - however, we get along well with a range of people - regardless of their occupation or edumacation!

I don't know that I'd go that far, plenty just simply use it to mean they're civilised, drug free etc clean living people, and I have no problem with people using the word, more how the rest of the profile reads, and I think they rule out potentially awesome play partners because of their strict criteria. My best sexual partners probably wouldn't have come onto their radar, because I look beyond a messy bathroom pic or whatever. I try to imagine what they would be like when up close and personal to suit my needs. Are they dominant, respectful, patient in early messaging etc. What they do for a living, I didn't even know with a good percentage of them. One I did because I went to his building site lol and another was very open about his life, but I couldn't care less if they are employed, not employed, wear a suit, wear high vis. It's the person that matters. Bottom line though, their loss IMO If people rule me out because I smoke or I'm a bad arse, well they'll never get to see the sexy side will they? Pfft

The term "Professional" generally implies people who have done well for themselves by virtue of their education and qualifications. It's a subtle way of indicating their social status which focuses more on their intellectual abilities rather than physical attributes or materialistic possessions. For example, there is a general perception that professionals are capable of holding intelligent conversations and are much more polished, cultured and sophisticated than their counterparts.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I think that people who have no grammar intellect just copy that from the classifieds section of the local newspaper. You’re correct, the type of profession & if this lifestyle would be frowned upon. Like high end banking, management or training those professionals. A lot different than taking photos & making videos, from home porn to wedding videos. There are some ‘professional people’, who are quite up themselves & frankly very rude. (i feel better after venting 🙂) But there’s so much more that interests me when deciding if I want to play with anyone, and it’s got sweet FA to do with their employment. Trustworthy, honest, those with integrity; well mannered courteous people are high on my list.
