Mine is my favourite literary character... Gabriel Oak. From Thomas Hardy's "Far From The Madding Crowd". The names of Hardy's characters are usually symbolic. Gabriel is angelic, a shepherd, good and honest... strong and true as an oak tree... not like me at all lol. And i just love the name Gabriel.

When we first started we were Lord_Lady 69. Lady is derived from my actual name so that is pretty much were that came from. Since then I have started blogging under the name Gemma Jones so Mr_MrsJones we have become. It is also cool because people always like to keep up with the Jones's Mrs Jones.

You got to at least give people a hint of what you're about in your profile name in my view.Let's face it we are all basically advertising with each other so it makes sense to me.FriendsMaybeMore, obviously I am looking for a friend/s and I'm possible looking for more to. My theory is that for any decent relationship to have a strong connection/foundation there has to be a genuine friendship at the basis of it.If I find a true friend but nothing progresses, great - good friends are hard to find. If something more comes from it, great as well

When I first joined I chose the first thing that came to mind, sugaryandspicy, but it didn't really suit me.. A lovely guy I met here called me Miss M, which I quite enjoyed. The word Devious I always liked. When used to describe a journey it means longer and less direct than the most straightforward way to the finish. That perfectly describes how I like to have sex. So here I am!

Mrs FL here. Loving reading this topic so thank you wiccan_beltane for starting and everyone replying so enthusiastically. I've just been amazed at some of the answers, had quite a few giggles and learnt a few new words! Our profile name, ForeverLovers, was originally meant to be LoversForever but when we tried to add our email address we were told we couldn't have the same username as an email address, so we switched it around. We use the same name on every site, it's just who we are now. We've been together for nearly 20 years and I guess we've been through an awful lot during that time. Our name reflects our belief that we will always be lovers, and forever together, one way or another! It also reflects how we feel about sharing our sex life with others. We may share our bodies (and have a damned good time doing so!) but no-one can ever get between us. We're not jealous, we're supportive, we're practical and regardless of what happens, we're forever lovers. I'm guessing some people reading this will think "awwwww" (you romantics lol!) and others might think "pass the vomit bucket" .... but guess what - it's our name, it's given us an enormous amount of pleasure and we love it! And a final little thought ....... on a site like this new people join I imagine in their hundreds every day. Each one of those people/couples have their own thoughts/questions/beliefs and should be encouraged to start new forum topics or comment on existing ones as they please. It gets a little old to see "this subject has been discussed before" or "you should have searched the forums" ..... so if that's all you have to contribute, maybe don't say anything at all and let everyone else have their chance of having a say. Well, its an old name of mine, have used it online for several years here and there, but it came about because when I gave up cigarettes I used to always suck on lolly pops, chupa chups mostly and blue tongue painter lollypops LOL As I have gotten older I found that I find sucking cock to be one of my favourite sexual activities so in a round about way, licking and sucking went with Lollypop, and of course NSW well thats just for here because I am in NSW.

Combined, neptune_drift sounded like a kind of ethereal, enigmatic, enchanting being - a combination of depth and surface. It had a lyrical ring to it with nice phonaesthetic properties, and reminded me a bit of the famous phrase 'cellar door'.To be honest there wasn't a lot of thought that went into it originally, but as time has gone on I've actually grown into the persona quite a bit, and I think I was lucky to have come up with it. Whilst reading all of that I went from thinking that the name you had chosen was a bit odd to actually really quite liking it, the way you wrote about it was so descriptive and almost poetic really, I was actually quite touched... Right up to the point you finished with:Really though, calling myself 'Zeus' just seemed too wanky.Hahahahahahaha! Bravo my man, bravo. I make it a point to buy anyone who really makes me wet myself a drink so I guess I owe you one dude. Being a woman in this asylum, receiving a dozen messages a day, we don't have to ask. It's easy to say "next", when a profile isn't perfect, and miss out on a potentially great person. My error? Your loss? It may be both. Do you want to risk it though?

Hun I so Agree with your comment concerning FaceBook ..It's bad enough knowing everywhere our friends are, but what really bores me to tears is the dribble they share with other People .Who cares it's their business. Nothing I'm familiar with or Interested in . To top it off the Games they want you to join in with them so they gain another Prize.. I had enough and closed My Acct. recently I'm not in hurry to return .. My Facebook Acct. has been targetted by Hackers from Melbourne. They didn't alert me Windows did and took action.. Plus I've noticed with Friends, they are so open to share so much Personal Info about themselves and add a Pic or many of themselves, Family and Friends ..They're a easy Target for all kinds of Scams..including ID Theft.. So like me I'm sure you'll go enjoy the real World meet enjoy Friends in Person instead of spending time having a Virtual Life on Facebook.. Enjoy Cheers Lu :)

Quite simple. I've had a lot of crap happen in the last few years which has all been quite cliche, as in, been done before so many times and the "tortured" bit can mean 2 things, either im still tortured by certain events or the original cliche is getting used more often and,has become overused hence clichéd. If I wrot all the stuff in a post youd laugh and think my last few years have come from a joke book. Basically I'm taking the piss outta my situation, taking the piss outta myself and also giving people a slight insight into who I am. Hope this makes sense

On our first date we were both in hysterics over the fact we shared a love for the goofy quirky ABC kids show 'PINGU'.. which then lead Mr to start using pingu's only noise "NOOT NOOT" in funny ways in conversations, so its just kinda stuck... I might have answered earlier on this thread but I've had more time ti think since then. So, in the beginning, I liked the word Peachy because of it's various implications hehe, it totally worked, and he agreed. There was already a PeachyPair, but it wan't an active profile. So, too simple, let's change Pair to Pear. . Two fruits, how could we go wrong? . Over time, I've had a giggle that I am often called cheeky which fits in with the Peachy part tee hee. . was my nickname at school. It really isn't very nice, lol, but it stuck and I was quite famous for it at school, some kids didn't even know my real name. It came about from a beach party I was at and I had quite a bit to drink, pretty much passed out and was found crawling along the beach 'ralfing' my guts up, lol. I awoke the next morning to everyone saying, 'Hey Ralf, how are you feeling?', Hey Ralf, have a good night did we?' I had no idea wtf they were on about but that is where it stemmed from. And 74 being the year I was born :)
