Age Lying about age

April 23 2016

Hi. Curious to know how people feel about age being stated incorrectly, or dodgying their age on the profile. I'll be honest, it doesn't sit well with me. I've been my age for less than a year The amount of people, men and women who lie about their age, some by a staggering 10 or more years (seen some on a cougar's site I'm on claiming they're 25 when they look 65) is more common than you might realise. So how would you feel if you found out the person you were meeting had adjusted the number down significantly? Have you gone ahead with a meet only to discover the inaccuracy and how did that pan out? Have you before or are you currently lying about your age, not expecting a lot of answers to that one. I'm not just talking about men here, lots of women lie about their age. I have to add that even when age is stated correctly, but very old pictures are put up, the end result is the same in my mind, it's deceiving, and personally find it a waste of my time. By the time the extra pics reveal what they actually look like, with time spent messaging back and forward, and you find yourself looking at someone entirely different that you might not be attracted to anymore, my response is usually not very polite let's say. Anyway, so over to you. Thoughts?

Quoting 'usrightnow' Some people seem willing to accept a small fudge limit. A year or two either way, it would be interesting to know where that fudge limit becomes a no. . Does recalibration clear the person(s), who grossly understated their age. . I guess I'm asking, because people keep doing it. Is there a worthwhile pay-off? Do people forgive the misdemeanour? .I was thinking that stating a younger age, (the odd special case accepted), shows a great insecurity. Thoughts I_touch? Doing my bit to steer us back to the topic at port 😊 . Mr. urn. . thanks Mr urn, needed someone to bring me back on topic I'm black and white with this lying thing. There's no acceptable number of years to fudge age as far as I'm concerned. It's a lie and it's deceiving the person you're meeting, and IMHO one lie leads to another. People who lie, lie about everything. They however, don't see it as a problem, but I do. For me, this black and white goes for friendships as well as sexual liasons. The exception I guess would be a young guy upping his age from say, 25 to 30, or 22 to 26, something like that. They do that because a lot of women won't meet guys who they consider might be inexperienced. I've had amazing encounters and ongoing things, with young 20's, I'm a big fan, so for me, they don't need to up their age, but I can understand why they do it and don't judge. It's obvious to me what age a person is anyway. Anyone who lies might think they can shave a few years off, or a lot, and think it goes unnoticed. No it doesn't, I'm damn good at picking a person's real age, men and women. I've even been known to chuck out the complements to women when I see their private pictures, but inwardly I'm thinking, you're way older than the age you say. But I can't tell them that, just let them live on with the illusion. I absolutely think it shows they are insecure. We are who we are, we are as old as we are, and we can't change that, but why would anyone want to. Even if I was 80, I'd still be proud of who I am and happy with myself, and I'm sure will be able to provide some level of enjoyment for some old dude haha
