A time and place for saying to someone the encouragement line of "you can do it!" and such phrase usually uplifts one's motivation to keep going. However, that line can bring the opposite effect on the recipient if it was said at the wrong timing! I personally hate hearing it when I don't need it! For example, I have been feeling exhausted from carrying out my duty at home on a 24/7 basis since this time last year! So it is no doubt that my head would run wild, at times, and the flash of thought of shifting the duty to be on part time basis came into my mind. I felt guilty for having that thought, so I talked to a couple of friends (whom I thought would understand why I had that thought) about it and got judged! Then they said to me "come on, you're a tough cookie, you can do it!".......I wished I had talked to different people who would understand me better 😛 - Posted from rhpmobile

Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for wanting to get help, or some respite. You need that, and it's healthy to do that. It will also allow you to maintain the stamina to continue being there. If possible, and I know there's no easy fix, but you need to look after yourself as well, in order to be able to look after them. So yes, your friends should have been more receptive and understanding

I think I understand what you mean. I also think there are times you might find it more helpful and worthwhile to seek opinions/advice/assistance from people who are completely independent from all parties involved in your situation so as to ensure impartiality. Whilst we all like to feel reassured by our friends and families, frequently (perhaps usually) they are unable to view things objectively. You may find your friends and family recommend a course of action which actually is entirely unsuitable to meet your needs and/or your objectives. My own experience is that this is especially likely in complex situations (with multiple dependencies and contingencies). I would class anything involving Personal Carer duty and its implications as fitting quite obviously and squarely within the "Complex Situation" category. Carer work is a tough gig in any context. Being the Carer of a loved one adds a whole other dimension to that undertaking. Whilst others around you may express sympathy and empathy, they may not fully understand and appreciate your circumstances and the toll that it can take. Unlike a professional Carer, at the end of your "work" day, you cannot as easily get changed out of your work rig and return to your off-duty life. For the sake of your own health, and for the sake of your family/friendships*, I would encourage you to consult with Carer organisations for appropriate, experienced and professional advice. *It would be a shame to spoil/taint a friendship by loss of trust or respect in consequence of poor (even if well intentioned) advice.

I know that you want to do the right thing by your parent but you need help and support. Your family members can not possibly expect you to do this all alone and the unhelpful comments from your friends are decidedly insensitive. When I was in hospital after giving birth to a premature baby and crying ,a friend told me to pull myself up by the bootstraps. A lack of empathy indeed. You should not feel guilty for considering part time or even full time care for your mum.I understand that culturally speaking its frowned upon but don't whole families provide the support, not just one daughter? Sweet Gem,as others have said please seek some help..your mum can be assessed by the state government age care team at least that is a starting point..hugs xx Q

Watching a loved one suffer is so hard and caring for them 24/7 even harder still. It's very difficult for people who have not experienced this yet to understand. I am not sure how old your Mum is or what illness she has but look up My Aged Care for some possible help at home support and funding. Some aged care facilities also have respite centres that provide for short stays, a day or two, which allows the carer to have some time off but ensures the patient is still fully cared for.

I've been there! I think they mean well and just want to encourage you but when you feel that you cannot do it, and are exhausted its the last thing you want to hear.. I hate hearing " everything will be okay" i always feel like saying HOW DO YOU KNOW!?!. You know yourself best if you need a break - take one. You cannot care for someone if you yourself are burnt out. Have you considered contacting the carers association in your state? they offer free telephone counseling and advisory services on things like how to get funding, products that may be useful , general navigation of the red tape etc.. just a thought!

For all the kind comments made in response to my last post xx thank you very much: I_touch Summer Ontology Qefenta1 CandyDelicious PoisonIV for all your kind words of support and empathy xx I did try to seek professional help before, but was refused services for mum due to her age, which is not yet met with ACAT's policy. Therefore, I have been walking this journey almost solely :) luckily I have my siblings helping me too whenever they can, so I'm not all alone even though I got rejected by the ACAT 😛 Anyways, I don't take my friends' words to heart as I know they meant well. They just haven't experienced exactly the same thing and don't have a clue what it's like to be in my shoes 😋 - Posted from rhpmobile

There are hermit souls that live withdrawn In the place of their self-content; There are souls like stars, that dwell apart, In a fellowless firmament; There are pioneer souls that blaze the pathsWhere highways never ran- But let me live by the side of the roadAnd be a friend to man. Let me live in a house by the side of the road Where the race of men go by- The men who are good and the men who are bad, As good and as bad as I. I would not sit in the scorner's seat Nor hurl the cynic's ban- Let me live in a house by the side of the road And be a friend to man. I see from my house by the side of the road By the side of the highway of life, The men who press with the ardor of hope, The men who are faint with the strife, But I turn not away from their smiles and tears, Both parts of an infinite plan- Let me live in a house by the side of the road And be a friend to man. I know there are brook-gladdened meadows ahead, And mountains of wearisome height; That the road passes on through the long afternoon And stretches away to the night. And still I rejoice when the travelers rejoice And weep with the strangers that moan, Nor live in my house by the side of the road Like a man who dwells alone. Let me live in my house by the side of the road, Where the race of men go by- They are good, they are bad, they are weak, they are strong, Wise, foolish - so am I. Then why should I sit in the scorner's seat, Or hurl the cynic's ban? Let me live in my house by the side of the road And be a friend to man. Sam Walter Foss(1858 - 1911)

It's cold here in Melbourne tonight. My brass monkey just came to the door and asked for another set of woollen long johns. Going to crank up the heater, enjoy a quiet evening under a pile of doonas whilst watching a few flicks and roll around on a pile of goose-down pillows. Why have so many of the women in my life thought it was funny to stick their cold toes between my legs?

He's probably 48 Different guy, whose profile reads "Hi I'm a man, 18 years old, seeking other fun people", messaged me today saying he just joined and that's not his age, he's 48. That's all he wrote, not sure what response he's looking for? Um, he's definitely an optimist. Wow, does make you wonder. I saw a new profile pop up one night that had very different ends of the age spectrum, think he was 18 on one, 40's or late 30's in another, but looked way older, really creepy. Both were removed, good job

Quoting 'Summersolstice' Google this: "Man sends woman an unsolicited d*ck pic, woman responds brilliantly. Man regrets it." That was funny and reminds me of one time years ago when I was on a vanilla dating site.On that site I was forever getting bombarded with messages from scammers.I used to have a lot of fun leading them on, wasting their time and and basically screwing with their heads. This one woman (presumably a woman) sent me a few messages so I threw the bait out and messaged her back. She nibbled and asked me what I was doing on a dating site and what I was looking for.I told her that I was deformed and that I had a hard time in real life meeting and getting with girls due to my deformity. She swallowed the hook and politely asked me about my deformity and how that prevented me from meeting girls.I messaged back and told her that my penis was very very big and no women Id ever met had been able to take it in.She messaged straight back stating that she loved big dicks and would have no problems with mine and that she was very flexible down there. I feigned excitement and messaged her straight back jabbering away about having to get my passport in order and asking her how far from the airport in Nigeria she lived etc etc.By this stage she now thought that she had a "live one" and told me that she thought she was falling in love with me. She had seen my profile pictures but not one of my dick so asked her if she would like me to send her one. She said YES PLEASE!I went and did an image search of the "largest cock in the world" I chose a nice big thick juicy long one to send her. I think it may have been photoshopped as it was as thick as my forearm and looked like it had varicose veins all over it. I emailed the dick pic and she didnt answer me for about an hour, I thought the gig was up but she got back to me later that day and asked was that really me.I said yes thats me and did she think she could take it, to which she replied that she would give it a good go hahhahah After a few more sexy mails and organising some Western Union money transfers to help out with the hospital bills for her gravely ill mother, I told her I had a confession to make. She got back to me and said that her love for me was so strong and deep that there would be nothing that I could have done that could phase that love.I image searched "shortest penis in the world" and picked out one that looked more like a slightly swollen clitorus with a mini ball sack under it than a dick and emailed her that telling her that was my real deformity hahahaNeedless to say I never heard back from that one. I had about 20 or so convos with scammers saved and all were funny as, I was going to make a book with them but lost them all when my PC shit itself :S grrrrr bugger hahah

been receiving flirts after flirts for couple of weeks from this cub, 24yo. I do nt respond as per my profile, I ask them not to send flirts. Finally, he sends me a message. 'Hey, how r u? Why not chat to me?' I looked at his profile - template, but cute pic. And profile suffers from a bad case of Ask-Me-itis.... No indication who, how tall, what this guy is all about. I asked him, why does he didn't even bother filling out his profile to help people gauge attraction and commonality. His response: 'I'm well-hung and can go all night. What else does anyone want?' err...Nah..... Some guys, really..... best chuckle for the day....

I have not encountered any scammers on RHP and that has a lot to do with why I don't look anywhere else anymore. However, when I did get the fake profilers, they were pretty obvious. I would ask a question and they would respond with something irrelevant. Typically, I tried to catch them out by asking questions that only a local would know the answer to...or saying something like "so you must be near the mexican restaurant" when I knew that there was no mexican restaurant in town. Another thing that was really obvious is asking their name, then asking again months later. Hey presto..different name. They gave me the shits and the admin were worse because they absolutely deny doing it but never got rid of those that I reported.

Even the Leave campaign didn't think they'd win at time of polls closing. Was watching the BBC coverage for much of the day. Early on everyone was talking up a Remain win. However the figures kept showing a Leave advantage. It will take time, as an exit was made difficult in the fine print. Boris Johnson probably made the difference. And a lot of people don't believe the government have been listening to them. So much yet again, for experts. Mr. urn. . Caught everyone by surprise indeed. There are some underlying repercussions for some Multinationals the company I work for deal with and I think we may have to assess the risks and impacts on the company in the next few weeks then plan for transition. Interesting times ahead is all I can say. Interesting times.

I'm not to surprised as the UK lost a lot of it's ability to control it's own economy due to EU rules. The EU is too complicated as there are several levels of agreements and not all members have ratified all agreements. In hindsight the EU works well with trade based agreements but not with other areas that over reach sovereignty of borders and decisions. I was suprised with the 3% correction on the ASX is an over reaction.

Just don't fly international with them... they get to dial up the breathalyser to .08, the global standard. Buy... flight insurance.

Quoting 'usrightnow' Nice to see The Battle of The Somme remembered today. So many lives lost. Over 57,000 British casualties on the first day, over 19,000 of those were fatalities. Further, the Germans suffered 6,000 casualties themselves on day one. The British and allied forces gained just 3 square kilometres of ground. .My Grandfather fought on The Somme in WWI. I can't imagine how horrific that war must have been for those young men. Many, like him, in their late teens or very early twenties. And to think, had he not been later injured on the battlefield, I wouldn't be writing this today. Lest we forget. Mr. urn. . In September or October there will be a memorial opened in Belgium. It will have 2,016 Poppies made from steel, they will all be made from the same patterned blank. Blacksmiths from all around the world are making them, including Australia and New Zealand. When I visited NZ in January a friend showed me some of the 50 he was making for it. The blank was quite a small chunky piece of steel then he showed us a partially formed one which had expanded and thinned out as he worked it but was still a bit "flat". The finished one he showed us was amazing as it had a true to life shape about it, a real piece of craftsmanship. So it's going to be quite an impressive memorial when you realise there will be 2,015 more of those Poppies and each one has a bit of love in it.

Quoting 'usrightnow'It's the start of the 2016 Tour de France. 😊 . ...So, who will win? Will it be the world's most expensive cyclist, Alberto Contador? depends if Contador has been enjoying his beef of questionable origins I don't really enjoy watching the Tour, but I do enjoy following the discussion of the power/cadence/etc data, and the doping/biological passport stuff over at Science of Sport. (similarly I don't generally care about athletics, but some of the science discussion around Caster Semenya and other intersex/athletes with testosterone issues was really interesting).

I was always led to believe that if she had a head ache that was the cue for no sex tonight dear. However, My GF got back on Thursday and had a headache Friday morning due to jet lag. I was going to let her be and rest; however, one thing led to another and I ended up going downstairs and tasting her beautiful pussy. After she had cum I was going to let her rest and not want anything in return. However, her headache had gone and what do you know, I got a head job myself and no ache So............. Is it possible that Sex could be a cure for a head ache, not an reason for not wanting it.

...to the bedroom carrying a glass of water and two Panadol Forte'. She said... ''What's that for?'' I said... ''Your headache''. She said ... ''I don't have a headache''. A couple of hours later we both realized I'd spilt the water and dropped the Panadol!

... to work tomorrow! I'll be working with a bunch of really smart colleagues tomorrow, each with a fabulous sense of humour. Wish I was half as bright as them! Love how they have answers to all my questions and the discussions get very lively! Should've studied harder in school when I was younger, and should've focused on the Sciences.

... the most common cause of headaches that aren't symptomatic of a more serious condition is actually dehydration. Get hydrated with water, and then see if it works. A small square of chocolate helps sometimes. Something about chocolates stimulating the release of endorphins which then gives you a "feel good" sensation. Hunger can also cause a headache. I was so busy at work one day that I didn't realise that it was already way past lunchtime and all I had the entire day was just one Belvita breakfast biscuit. Mild headache was quickly cured after I munched on three Arnott's Crackers. Sex is, of course, the best trigger for endorphins but when you are at work, sex kinda isn't a viable option.

The good news is that I got 2 bottles of Bombay. The tricky part is how to get them to you. I should be able to sort something out with Indy, because I will be in QLD next R&R, but sadly Lily, Vic isn't currently on the radar. Still, who knows, maybe Vic will have an unseasonal heat wave and I might whoosh on through. Maybe we can have a treasure hunt. I will stash a bottle somewhere and you have to guess where it is. I am only allowed yes and no answers. Actually that might be a fun forum thread. That way everyone can play. 😁😁😁
