I think Alcohol is also a depressant as in a central nervous system depressant, which results in slower motor responses, slower mental functions, etc. Thankfully, I'm a happy drunk. Actually, make that a happy alcohol imbiber since I seldom drink and when I do, it's often in pitifully small doses in my home-concocted cocktails. We're talking less than 10mls, max 20 mls. I think I've got a happy liver too!

I agree wholeheartedly. Some people do get depressive after a few glasses of alcohol. Sometimes they do and say things out of character. any pent up anger and resentment surfaces after a couple of drinks and they may do or say nasty angry things. I've seen this over and over again. Alcohol and anti depressant drugs (or most drugs) also don't mix. Disaster cocktail.

I'm talking from personal experience. Seeing people around me - family and friends - just lose control, not in a good way, with alcohol. They drink too often than they should and they have depression. Taking their daily medication and some alcohol has always resulted in dark thoughts in many. A very close family member was taken to hospital very recently because of this. She is on suicide alert. Very sad

a "Funny as fuck" drunk...Then shit changed in my head I guess.. and I turned into a drunk from hellStill funny.. but seriously short tempered.One night at a hotel something changed... I agree re the scary Grannie comment 😀 I might fall into that category 😉 My thinking on that however is it's no better than declaring they don't want fat people, unnecessary for either example when they can vet and choose who they want to attend? They might just be a bit inexperienced, some lessons to be learned 😃

Yes. I.agree the average age of forumites would be in early to mid 40s. Not sure it's ageism. It's just like any party people organise to meet their preferred target. I am not offended by this and would be better off directing my energies at people and activities that make me feel welcome. So the cut-off age is fine.

I don't see any issue with such party specifications. They can have their party with their particular requirements excluding the people they don't want, everyone else has their parties with other particular requirements excluding the people they also don't want.

You may be right. It still doesn't bother me either way if.they just want to parry with people their age or slim to average sized people. Meh. They want what they want similar to people with preferences for Caucasians or Africans rather than Asians. Not stressed by it. I'm happy where I am and lots of fun to be had with other sexy men.

To add, I personally would not be interested in such parties even if I fall within the age bracket and a size 8-12. However, I will not cry foul nor raise a big stink about their party. Beth I will fill you in later ;) Mr and Mrs Urn - Ms Dragon is always a a great read! Homeschooling has been like pulling teeth to be honest. My daughter is an intelligent, witty and very eclectic child. But she has the attention span of a goldfish. Trying to stay focused, especially on the days our little man is at home is a massive challenge. Particularly when he's painting the floor, running along the kitchen bench and flooding the kitchen ;) I usually spend my day running behind him and cleaning up the carnage! It sounds like I have an animal and not a child but I've been blessed *coughs with two spirited and brazen headstrong little beings. We will see how this term goes and then make a decision about where we go back to a normal school or just continue at home. And I agree with your comments on education. We are given very few choices when it comes to th variety of education our children can receive in this country, and the amount of relevant curriculum. To summarise there's been a distinct lack of 'me' time the last two months. We've had feeding clinic at hospital six weeks running for our little monkey and the resulting hours each day implementing strategies and incentives to eat, starting school at home, taking in a family member for a short period of time and managing her mental health and three babies while preparing a few thousand pages of court documents. But time for me is coming back!!! I can't possibly catch up with all past posts but I'm trying to get and idea of last months shenanigans at least. I'm hoping not to have such a long break again, it's felt like I've been missing something the whole time :)

some of the You Can't Ask That episodes today. Watching an episode about Down's Syndrome, and one of the questions is how they feel about sex. One of the female interviewees is gay and she mentions having had a threesome with two other women....the expression on the guy sitting next to her is priceless . The episodes about S&M and suicide were really good as well. Such an insightful show.

Last year they did an episode on the terminally ill and how they felt about dying It was riveting, heartbreaking, brutally honest and I admit I bawled at the end of that episode. Stayed with me for a long time. Kudos to the production company and all involved for having the balls to go there. Excellent show

Yes I have seen most of the older episodes too, not the recent ones yet. They haven't done any on swinging or equivalent (although they have done Poly). The same goes for Insight on SBS. Perhaps it's hard to find people open enough to be shown on national TV. There are others of interest to me that they could do. Ive been wondering why insurance companies in particular have been running these ads featuring incompetent bumbling men, I mean why humiliate 50% of your audience ? I think I've got it. Had this happen to me a few times in the last week. I take the time to compose a decent message and I fit all criteria so I am allowed to write and I hate a hi how are you crap message. Five minutes composing and send. Message comes up. Not accepting messages or profile invalid. Firstly if the profile is invalid what the hell is it doing there. And secondly I do wish people updated their profile and stated that so one does not go to the effort of taking their time to write a decent message. Bit of a whinge about nothing but pfft I'm allowed. . Cheers all

'Not accepting messages' I think might be something we can select, so the profile remains seen, but they choose to not accept messages, but yeah, the site should have it stated at the top of a profile to save you wasting your time
