I absolutely love it when it's done properly. Lack of oxygen makes my brain go into overdrive and it heightens my senses. I can feel more intensely and tend to be more sensitive under a choke hold. To me, it has nothing to do with power or control by the choker. If anything the choker is the one that needs to constantly monitor the welfare and pleasure of the person they are choking. Getting the right amount of choke, I think, is rather hard work. The pressure needs to be strong enough so as not bring up a choking cough. But it must not be so strong that I end up with a bruised neck or windpipe. There's also the trust issue.
