Women who expect you to pay for everything?

December 20 2013

Why do women think they're losing something when you have sex with them? Isn't it mutual exchange? They expect you to come pick them up, shout them dinner, pay for the hotel room, and drive them home?

Swede and others, why do you continue to pay for women and all the time then? Doesn't that make you a sucker?!?

I am just not a cheap inconsiderate wanker, I am a proud considerate happy wanker. Plus I only got sucked in once, Tara did not mind me offering to pay for her meal, so there was reason not to. Mado I am not talking about married men who paid for a dinner 20 years ago!!!! Sheesh. I mean the single, young guys who seem to have a low opinion of women who do expect a man to pay for everything, why continue to do it? Why when you are in the pubs and clubs are you paying for all the women around you to get drunk every weekend? Why continue to date lots of women and pay for them all the time? You are either a sucker, or you are hoping to get something in return. Right?

The things I could say about social equity and willingness to pay...... but I don't feel like reading arguments today :-)

Just thought I would throw it in anyway, probably won't ever get the opportunity again. First time I have even mentioned it in twenty years, never had a reason to. Mado Tara xx

Quoting 'Meeka100' Swede and others, why do you continue to pay for women and all the time then? Doesn't that make you a sucker?!? I'm with Mado on this one "I am just not a cheap inconsiderate wanker, I am a proud considerate happy wanker." From reading through the many pages of this thread and filtering out the sad bits it looks like everyone has variations on their "Rules of who pays" and "what they may expect in return". So... my rules and returns?: 1) I never go somewhere on a one-on-one date/meet unless I can afford to pay the whole bill. I have a budget and will only offer to pay what is within that budget.2) If the other person argues they want to pay half I will only retry once then acquiesce to their insistence. I consider it an insult to their independence to argue the point too hard.3) I expect NOTHING in return for a night out, a night out is for company and companionship with anything more being a bonus. (that way I'm not disappointed if there is no play and there is no pressure on the other person) I believe in and respect equality and "going dutch" just as much as chivalry and being a gentleman. Sorry OP, I don't know who you have been dating/meeting with but with the exception of my first girlfriend I've not had any woman "expect" me to pay for anything. (In fact I still owe a few ladies from this forum for some beers they bought at the last Meet and Greet... and that lady who keeps buying shots at each Meet and Greet is going to get her bottom spanked one day) SG

I've never expected anyone to pay for me. Happy to go halves, have even picked up the tab myself before. Do not collect me from my house, I'll meet you there lol. I'm a good guest, I never show up empty handed, whether it be with a bottle of wine or something stronger. I do have traditional values, but in this day an age it's more acceptable for a woman to also pay her way. The gesture of him paying doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated though. But doesn't mean that you have a free pass to my crutch..... A hotel room.....hmmmmm if he requests that kind of a meet, yes he pays for it. Really depends on the situation doesn't it ?

Too many guys already have the mindset of "can I buy you a drink"... when approaching a woman..... as if that entitles them to her time and attention. Its a stupid mentality, and sets the guy up as an ATM right form the beginning. 3....2....1....

It is just me, but it's rare for a woman to expect a man to pay? I was shocked a few months ago when a girl expected me to pay, it had been ages. German girl, apparently it is gentlemanly for the man to pay. I couldn't help myself, "I didn't realise I was paying for your company" On a fun note, I do enjoy playing games & getting girls to buy me drinks....
